Well, rather than use the slightly less anonymous method of e-mail, I thought I'd stick my suggestions here, why everyone can have a goosey before they don't get added. For ease of noting, I'll add the criteria Yahtz added too.

First of all: Perry Bible Fellowship = damn fucking incredible! Found it a while before somewhere, much joy.

John and John: Y??NNN*

Red Meat:: NNNNNY

Chopping Block: YNNNNN

Be rest assured, I'll find many, many more before tea time today...

Also hating email, I'll add a small note here.

I was surprised you didn't add Something Positive to you're list. It's been awhile since I've read it, so my ratings may be off, but it should be Y N N Y Y N.

I'm less surprised to not see Elf Only Inn, as Sortelli is on hiatus, but it's still good. N N N Y N N.

I hate Something Positive. Something Positive is what made me write that webcomic update in the first place. It's cliched up the wazoo.

I thought the Grimbles closed shop awhile ago. Have to get back up to date, I guess. And out of curiosity, just what is the annoying cute mascot for Sexy Losers?

There isn't one. Read the list more carefully.

And the Grimbles has stopped, I think. But it's still good.

What about Checkerboard Nightmare? NNNYNY. (there are strips from 2000, but according to the author, it really begins here.)

I'd recommend Cyanide and Happiness (NNNNNN), and of course, I'd suck at self-promotion if I didn't suggest Afghanistani Annie. (NNN Can't Tell NN)

Achtung Franz is excellent, and even has an AGS-made adventure game

I'm quite aware this thread/idea is kinda dead, but one of the comics I mentioned decided to pull off an entire fortnight of comics based on the Six Cliches List, only namechecking Yahtz... erm... yesterday. And would you believe it, I got all but namechecked...

QUOTE (MSFT)
When I first came onto the "six webcomic cliches", it was on a forum where someone had linked and reviewed my site. While I fell prey to most of the cliches, this particular one (all women=hot) was graded with a question mark. Apparently, due to my crude stick-rendition of women, it's not possible to tell whether or not my characters are supposed to be "hot or not" (dot com). I mean, come on, can't you tell by their shapely bodies and.. uhhh... eyelashes.. that these ladies are teh s3xx0r?

Well, its not my fault, I can't tell how lumpy stickmen are supposed to be...

I intentionally delayed linking the list of cliches so that the audience (read as: my girlfriend, since she's the only regular reader..) would be surprised by the content. I did due respect in the end, and never pretended that it was my idea. Sorry that I didn't mention you, Chyld.. I rectified that with a "shout out" on the new comic.

Thanks for the interesting ideas, guys! It's great that someone is thinking about webcomics on a symbolic level.. it makes it almost seem like a REAL art form. wink.gif

Wahey! Namecheck! Shiny goodness! Thanks! Your comics good stuff, in case I hadn't already made the point.

And it wasn't me complaining about not being mentioned, its just that I'm an attention whore at heart...

Wasn't "Alien Loves Predator" one of the ones that I suggested in an email that didn't get added before? You did take my suggestion on "A Softer World", however, so yay I suppose.
