plus, i dont remember exactly, but how did neo and trinity fall in love in the first movie. i mean, all i remember was him saving everyone's life a few times, then POW, smooching like dogs in heat. of course that's how everyone falls in love right?.........right?

Yeah,

I don't recall ever seeing dogs smooch, heat or no heat, but I was pretty disappointed that they didn't figure a way to have Trinity survive and announce at the film's end that she was pregnant. Because for my money, that's the only excuse for a five-minute softcore sex scene in *any* film.

Mike.

PS: Saw the extended TWO TOWERS yesterday and had the same reaction to it that I had to the extended FOTR: I do not want to see the next film in the theatre. I will, of course, but I know that the extended DVD of RETURN OF THE KING will surpass the theatrical release so much that the theatrical film will seem like a trailer by comparison.

PPS: By all that, I mean to say I endorse the extended DVD versions of the films. I will never go back to watch the shorter versions.

Oh sinister, how did you miss their amazing romance? You see, when there is a main male character and a main female character in a movie they have to fall in love! It's the proper order of things!

i know. i mean, everyone just falls in love when they team up in conflict like that. without the movies, no one would ever be born, or know the pleasure of burning ants.

Nothing was resolved, no questions were answered.  It was just more stupid stuff happening.

The problem with the two Matrix sequels is that they tell the boring story of what happens after you know who's going to win.  We all knew Neo was going to kick a lot of ass after the first movie, it's implied.  But they just go right ahead and show it all happening.  And it's terribly lame.

I dunno.  I'll stop now.  I'll probably write articles about it or something... too much to get into here.

What do you feel was left unanswered that should have been?

While the wachowski's have a lot to learn about directing (the first movie had long painfully boring scenes as much as the second and third movies), I am satisfied with the way they ended the series. The earth in the Matrix Mythos can't sustain a billion people if they are not in a state close to suspended animation. If Neo had foolishly destroyed all of the machines and "freed" all of humanity as many people wanted, the billion or so humans "freed" would die from starvation and exposure and probably overburden Zion as well.

of course it makes sense to let the people who want to stay in the matrix actually stay there. i wonder how long zion was around for them to establish the technology and other stuff that they had available.
