In college, one library had a nice sign for kids ditching study hall, not terribly hip to where to plop: "attention dozers: you're sleeping in a thoroughfare."

nice couches though. (back to publishing matters:) I hope they send me that book deal.

anybody here use a pen name?

Earlier on, I mentioned an idea for a book that I had. Well, I finished what would be my contribution if such a thing ever came to be. If anyone wants a taste, I posted about it on my blog. You can read the exact post, which includes a short quote, here.

Please send happy thoughts to my (unmentioned) potential publisher. I'm two weeks out from the 5 months they said they'd need to review my children's book proposal.

Not that I'm in a hurry to read a rejection, if they ain't interested I can't change that.

Um, yeah. Thought I'd 'fess up.

Got my rejection letter, with nice handwritten note
("Hope you find the right home for your manuscript. smile.gif ")

I'm going Multiple submissions now, baby. Probably to the Christian market which doesn't pay as well but I need to get published! Too many other projects which will work better once I'm extablished.

but thanks for the support, J m. I do appreciate it.

ah you'll get used to them eventually. The only difference between a successful author and someone who'll never make it is determination. Talent has little to do with it, just go look at a bookshelf in some store and you'll see that.

Just thought I'd update. I sat and frittered, went to a book conference last fall, and made a quality push on my book / proposal here recently. Sent out five proposals two weeks ago and have heard back from one, a small house who was upfront and to the point regarding my rejection.

Wanted to update, because my Children's book WILL be signed and published, it's just a matter of When. I'll certainly let you know when 'tis official.

Thanks, Marky.

I got bored at the Music festival over the weekend, so I started thinking about flying first class to book signings, reading the book to children at events, and maybe, just maybe: have Louis released to run over to me at the end. tongue.gif Animal abuse, I know. smile.gif

It's about 32 pages long.

kidding. It's a nice turn on a traditional, well known story by adding new characters who happen to be dogs who save the day. I have a whole series planned if someone will just bite.

out of the five, two rejections are in. Three puposals still out there...

Thanks for the interest!
