has anyone else played this yet? I thought there would be a topic about it but for some strange reason there isn't...

I think i'll be blindly purchasing all troika games from now on... (being the guys who made fallout 1 & 2)...

for RPGs i usually prefer turn based combat but i think they handled this quite well.
i have to say i am esspesially impressed, because generally when I buy a game, i play it for a bit and come back to it every now and then...

like GTA, where i just get distracted seeing how many cops i can outrun...
or re-enacting the window-minigun scene from Terminator 2 from the car shop window, once all the cops arive...

i think Fallout 1 & 2, Nights of the old rebublic, and Vampire the masquerade- bloodlines are the only games i've ever bothered to sit down and devote my time to until finished.

it's pretty sweet... (although it needs a patch to run properly)
if you haven't played it i highly recomend.

also... there's a new ministry song in there.

I've heard its good, but thats about it. Isn't it the sequal to something? And if it is, do you need to have played the first one to understand it?

I played and loved the game, but wasn't Fallout 1 and 2 by Black Isle (now Obsidian, who just made KoTOR 2)?

Regardless, Bloodlines a fantastic RPG and I recommend it to anyone. The gameplay is excellent and has high replay value, but don't expect the storyline, much less the ending, to be earthshattering. There were a lot of loose ends, leaving much to the player to figure out (both good and bad). A long game, which is also good.

The first VTM was Vampire The Masquerade: Redemption, though I haven't played it. Good taste in games, Barend. happy.gif

I went down to buy it on Saturday, but whilst at the shops saw they had finally released KotOR 2 on PC. So, ummm.....it may be awhile. But I promise I'll get it.

I told you I'd get it. Picked it up today, but yet to play it. You mentioned above that I need a patch. Anything else I should know?

You were right(as usual)Barend. I would think you were awesome for reccomending this, if I didn't know it already.

I've only recently arrived Downtown. I love the games atmosphere. The Haunted Hotel is an excellent example. And the humour is brilliant. My favourite bit so far was hacking the patient files in the hospital, and seeing that one of the patients had a bad case of Sexlexia biggrin.gif I was quite saddend though that the patient in question wasn't Brannigen, Z.

I'm currently playing as a Toreador, focusing on Persuade and Celerity. Though on the replay I want to try a Malkavian. Their insanity looks neat.

Aw, man, now I really want this game...but I'm going to have to wait I don't know how long before the price comes down enough. It's still around like fifty bucks at Wal*Mart.

What's the deal with theses Orders or Families or Clans whatever you call them that everyone brings up (Malkavian looks familiar, I think that was one of the answers I got in an online quiz). I'm too out of touch with these kinds of things to remember anything about them, even though I know I should. Could somebody refresh my memory?

I got it cheap at EB. Its usually AU$69.95, but by chance I picked it up on the 2 games for $50 table. The problem was finding a second game to go along with it.

The clans/bloodlines each have different characteristics. Your clan will be the same as your sire's(although you can choose it in character creation, so technically you choose your sire's clan). I think I saw somewhere that there are 13 or so known clans, but the game has 7 playable.
Brujah: Passionate Idealists, or rebels.
Gangrel: Loners mostly. Closer to the beastial side.
Malkavanian: Basically insane.
Nosferatu: Look horrendous, but make good theives and spies.
Toreador: Artists and Visionaries. Genreally Fashionable and sociable.
Tremere: Mages. Mysterious and whatnot.
Ventrue: Leaders, whether it be of buisness, nations or armies.
