Billed as 'possibly the worst film ever made' by the box, Plan 9 From Outer Space lives up to it's reputation. It's supposed to be a serious science fiction fillm, but fails on every level. From the paper plate flying sauces, to the seeming random switching from day to night between sets, to the badly made sets themselves. Hell, one of the main characters died after recording one or two scenes. So what does the director do? Get his chiropracter who looks a bit like him to play the role, of course! He just has to hold a cape up to cover the bottom half of his face-nobody will realise.

An excellent laugh. A word of advice though. Don't try to drink every time there's something stupid. You'll end up with alcohole poisoning.

I recommend seeing Ed Wood. It's a hilarious movie about Ed Wood (Plan 9's director) that is brilliantly done and fantastic tribute to the oddball director.

I've never seen Plan 9 from Outer Space, but from what I've heard it falls into the 'so bad it's almost good' category - as you pointed out, at least you can get a good laugh from it. So I think it's a bit unfair to call it the 'worst movie ever', when there are plenty of movies which are equally badly made and also excruciatingly boring to watch. Try visiting the Agony Booth.

The sandpeople had women and children. We know this because Anakin killed them how could he tell? The children might be smaller but I never saw a sandperson with breasts. Did they hike their skirts and show him some leg or something?

Also, I can see the point of wanting to kidnap a human and use her as a slave, but they didn't. They tied her to a flimsy easel for a month. It's assumed they had to feed and give her water. What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.

I have seen P9FOS many times. It is a much better movie than PHANTOM MENACE or ATTACK OF THE CLONES.

It is certainly not the worst movie I've ever seen.

The worst films I have ever seen include:

Phantom Menace
Attack of the Clones
Dawn of the Dead(New Remake)
Terminator 3
Alen vs. Predator
Kill Bill
Suspect Zero
National Treasure

I'd rather watch P9foS any day than rewatch any the above crap.

My mom got Sienfield Season 1&2 for DVD, and in one episode Jerry and company are going to see this movie.

I am an avid collector of Ed Wood's work.

Seen Plan 9 several times.

I can say honestly:

1. It is NOT Ed Wood's worst movie.

2. It is NOT the worst movie ever. { the un_MSTified "Manos: The Hands of Fate" has that distinction}

You can actually enjoy Plan 9 from outer space. It is not a bad experienc.

A true "bad" film hurts when the viewer watches it. Plan 9 is harmless. It come off being more low budget rather than inept.

It;s even better if you watch the movie ED WOOD first.

BTW I recommend getting some of Ed Woods "racier" stuff if you can get it. devil.gif

That is an understatement. Anyone that has seen ANYTHING else by Ed Wood would agree that Plan 9 isn't even close to his worst. It is most likely his finest moment. For his worst, try Jail Bait. It's spellbinding.

Yeah, Plan 9 has had the reputation of being the best B movie ever made (or the worst regular movie) for years now.
