PS2 had a really weak launch as well. Aside from SSX, there are very few titles that I would really work to search out right now. Fantavision had its moments, but I've heard that it gets boring fast. Very fast.

the PS1 had a pretty weak launch too. it was released in 95 but wasn't even noticed by the mass public until around... early 97? something like that? anyway, i'm so glad i got that system in 96.

Do you still have your PSone? I don't have mine anymore.

Anyway, I think it's pretty well expected for a console to have terrible games available at launch. Perhaps if console releases were delayed a bit so that developers had more time to produce quality titles, such a thing could be avoided.

I sold my PS1 to Paul back in 2000 for $50. Recently I bought my roommate's PS2 for $50 with the 4 controller splitter and six games. I think this is one of the rare times I have won out in the long run. Yay!

Was he desperate for money, but not yet desperate enough to turn to prostitution?

He wasn't even desperate for money. I just said, "You want to sell your PS2?" He said, "Yes." I said, "How much?" He said, "Fifty bucks." I then kept my poker face and handed him the money. End of transaction.

It's all in pieces right now as I am going to be modding it.

Is there any way to mod an N64 to accept NES/SNES cartridges?

Yes, there are many many points.

Technically there's got to be some way to do it. I don't think it's easy or worth doing, though. It would be far easier to mod a PS2 or Xbox to run emulators to play the NES/SNES games.

Yeah, but it's just not the same, emulating the game. I don't get the full experience without the constant freezing and save game loss!

And I don't have the cash to buy a PSDeuce or XBOX and mod them, put emulators on them. Not would I want to. But an XBOX or mod either of them. My friend has Halo and KoToR, why should I bother with the system, ya know?

Then why not play them on the original systems? Playing them on the N64 would require some sort of emulation.

Well, I was hoping that if I could rig them to run on a newer system, they would cock up less. However, my NES has been being very nice lately. It even gave me enough time to beat Bionic Commando!
