Well, I came upon an interesting site online that lists the most valuable sought after games. My nephew wants a copy of Final Fantasy VII, (after he lent his copy to a buddy, who never returned it!). Ebay currently lists FFVII around the $50.00 ballpark range-ouch!.

This link shows a list of many titles that have become quite rare and valuable. Many of these titles you may have heard of, some you may have not. If you find similiar sites like it, please feel free to list the link in your reply. Enjoy.

I've got FFVII, and I'm very proud of it, even though it's only the German version (read: Horribly translated from Japanese to English to German. God how I hate those lunatics that are actually getting paid for translations in this country...). Still, I wouldn't give it away for $50.00 or more...

Apparently a lot of people care about those games. So much care, that they are willing to fork over about $10,000 each just to have the top two. Im sure if I had any of the top ten in my possession I would administer a lot of care towards them as well.

But... their only redeeming value is that they have redeeming value... None of them look remotely worth playing or owning except to say that you're carrying around something that someone is willing to pay too much money for due to a scarcity fetish...

maybe not by todays standards, im sure we could all think of many, many games that are far more entertaining than this lot. but they are worth owning, its easy for anyone to feel envy and jealously towards someone who has such a title among their possession, knowing that, in most cases some of these titles may have been once accessible to us as well, yet for some reason we passed up that chance, and never looked forward to see such potential.

It doesnt just apply to games either. toys are also well-known to "strike gold" if you have the right toy in prime condition. just go to ebay and type in the name of your favorite toy followed by "afa", you will see some surprising dollar figures listed. currently there is a transformers omega supreme figure that seems to be fetching well over $1,500. some would just regard it as being an overpriced large hunk of plastic and screws..but others see it as a well preserved vintage item that has increased in value over time. i guess as the saying goes: to each his own. (referring to points of view of course)

And here I was thinking that I had already seen some pretty weird fetishes.

blink.gif umm, what weird fetishes have you seen? huh.gif
Peter Brady was by far the ugliest Brady kid on the "Brady Bunch". I mean, they were all pretty ugly, and the fact that the Brady dad wanted to always take the boys out on overnight camping trips just a tad bit too often, gave me the creeps.

None, apparently. They all seem so common now, you can barely call them hip anymore.
