People are not intrinsically evil. They are, however, intrinsically greedy, selfish, and egoistical. The glorious core of humanity is individuality, the problem is that it tends to be most noticeable when unity is most important.

A good dictator is the best form of government. The problem is, they are far and few between.

And they are almost always quickly overthrown by a subordinate who is interested in raw power instead of governing.

Don't confuse weak with good. Good ol' Vladimir had trouble with his brother, and solved that easily.

QUOTE (Slade @ Mar 17 2005, 01:41 PM)
Sorry, I gave up hope on humanity actually ruling itself without griding the entire world to dust years ago. No one here can seem to agree on anything, all we end up doing is bickering, I think I might have to formally retire from the topic. ChefElfia isn't so bad...

i don't consider myself human.

i am a much higher form of life known as 'one of those people who don't watch reality TV or listen to top 40 music who are better than everyone else'

the topicİ didn't go to shit...

the people did...

i had some ideas to make the world a better place, but others were being pussies about it.

the reason evil allways beats goo is because when the bad guy is hanging off the edge, the dumbass good guy always reaches over and helps him up... even though they were fighting.

bad guys let the good guy drop.

i'm a good guy who has no quams about doing the neccassary dirty work to clean up the world, but everyone wants to have a parade and celebrate democracy with another incedicsive election of community apathy...

booooooooooooooooo to the world.

The problem is that humanity is incapable of governing itself, and by allowing any sort of rule will just make things worse, but anarchy never seems to be much better.

I'm going to read On Government and Leviathan, then write a treatise on the role of the modern government, and then get back to you.

I have a matter that I must bring before the council immediately. It is no secret that I have not always supported SupCorBar, but discovering that Hannibal is plotting to overthrow our government has changed my views. Here is an intercepted Hannibalian communique:

QUOTE
It certainly may be obvious to some what I am doing, but for people such as youself, it might take some self reflection and re-reading of your own posts.

Do you just expect everyone to back down and take your shit?

Hannibal is trying to overthrow the Debatian government using endless tedious cut and pastes of other peoples ideas and opinions!

What the fuck? Hannibal trying to overthrow the government? Next thing you know Barend will be asking for emergency powers! This is all turning into my Star Wars Prequel rewrite!

And all of those unneccesary commas - it's a crime against grammar itself! We must unite and stop this force, and then return to our petty bickering and name calling!

Give me unlimited powers in your new government, and I'll solve him before he's started.

Sorry, the time machine is reserved to the use of dead presidents only, so as to avoid potential time parodoxes. Those things get ugly fast, then the extradimensional time police come and have to fix everything, wasting tax payers dollars. You'd have to fix him after he started, I'm afraid. And I don't know if our beurocracy is able to even vote on issues yet, let alone who gets unlimited power.

Che was in Bolivia when he was killed by the fascist puppet government of Bolivia and a US spy named Felix Rodrigues, whom I swear oaths against should I ever meet him. His Excellency the President of Cuba mourned Dr. Guevara's death like the rest of the free world, and even planned to send in a mission to avenge him for a time.
