Debatia, tiring of the tyranny of their colonial master, Chefelfia, has seceded and declared independence. The citizens of Debatia and our leaders are left to
A: Draft a constitution
B: Elect (or impose as the case may be) rulers
C: Decide on laws and other such things for the country
This nation may or may not be tested in a way as yet undecided depending on how much interest we get. You can make alliances with people or disagree with them as you please. The idea here is to actually simulate the founding of a government and see if we cant figure up a model for a utopian society. I've seen so much intelligent stuff come out of forum members that I thought it would be fun if we had a chance to show what we could do if placed in power. I think we'll give this a day or two to see how many people are interested so if you want to join in just make a post explaining your political ideas and saying you want to be one of the founding fathers of our new nation.

Edit: I don't know how well ChefElf will take this since I don't know his stance on federalism... But you have my approval, hopefully I won't get de-modded for treason.

I guess I can be a Conservative with Protestant Ideals. But at the same time I want to legalize Pot in BC. I also want BC to take Alberta and run away from the rest of Canada.
My government will not support any peace keeping bullshit or eco-friendly organizations. Our money will be pumped into people who actually make a difference- Envriomental Engineers and Geoligists. I will expose the Sierra Club for pandering to LIberal values and doing fuck all for the enviroment. I will also expose David Suzuki to be the do-nothing-fuss-pot that he is!
Any ways, sure, Conservative.

I will establish a set of laws and governances that are suited in particular to my personal skills and abilities to negotiate and interact with people at a human level. None of this oppression crap. People will do what I want because it will make sense and be of obvious benefit to the greater community.
Despite taking the mantle of dictator, I am not so arrogant as to believe that I know all. As such my laws will come from consultation with the people. We the majority will set down what all of us will live by. A layer of democracy will be set underneath my benevolant reign. Policy will be formed out of common sense and the greater good for all mankind.
Of course when the people want something that I believe to be inappropriate or not of the best course in action I will give it to them. And when it falls on its arse I will not be to shy to say "I told you so, but needed to let you see for yourself!" Conversely, if their wishes prove to be effective then I will be dictator enough to say thankyou my people, you have shown me a another way and I have learned from this and will take your teaching into our new age of development.
From this day forth you may call me Augustus. For with my passing, no single individual will be able to maintain the utopia that I have presided over. The reason being, all that follow will likely do so due to a lust for power rather than a thirst for the greater good. Despite my best efforts to select the most appropriate heir, my vision will not last more than 3 generations before it is corrupted. That is the nature of mankind and I am prepared for it.
