I know that we won't be getting a sequel for some time now. Probably not until the next system. So, what characters would you like to see as playable? And what moves would they have?
Obiously, the key here is balance, so you can't have a character like Racoon Mario, who can fly.

I want to see Jill and/or Chris.
(B) would be shotgun: Fires 3 bullets in a wide spread
(B, Smash) would be knife: Slashes characters
(B, Down) : Umm... I don't know, Laser Eyes!
(B,Up) : I ran out of ideas last line

Sonic the HEDGEHOG, baby!
(B) Ring: Smacks opponent with a ring.
(B, Smash) ?
(B, Down) Sonic spin: Kinda like Jigglypuff's spin move.
(B, Up) Spin Jump: A normal jump in the Sonic games.

Tails, Knuckles!

Mabye even The Tyrant or Nemesis. You guys can see that I really like RE.

but all the characters in SSB are pure Nintendo... not Capcom or Sega???

*tut* tut*

any way how about;

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
King K Rool / Klap Trap (like Ice Climbers, but with one big one small)

Neutral B: Big Punch - a bit like DKs charge punch (at the same time Klap Trap does a less powerfull but multipul rapid punch)

Forward B: Klap Trap Bazooa - fires clap trap outta bazooka (cannot be performed if Klap Trap is KO'd

Down B: Super Tough Skin - deflects all attacks bar missle/projectile (cannot be performed in the air, Klap Trap digs a small hole instead)

Up B: Vine Climb - throws Klap Trap up in air, then Klap Trap pulls King K Rool back up with a vine (cannot be performed if Klap Trap is KO'd)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The reason that there's only pure Nintendo characters and HAL characters is because that's all they have the rights for.

Assuming any character, I would like to see Alexandra Roivas from Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem(By Silicon Knights). Primary weapon(for A attacks)would be the gladius.
B: Lightning Spell(long range, mid damage, no smash)
Forward B: Shotgun(short range, but large damage, knockback/smash)
Down B: Sheild(Absorbs Projectiles)
Up B: ? She never had any air attacks
Z: Use Bind Creature spell to hold enemies from a short distance(a la grapple beam/hookshot)
She'll be a light character similar to Link, giving her speed, but not much damage.

As a boss/evil character, put in Pious Augustus in Lich form with a bone staff.
B: Lightning(more powerful then Alex's)
Side B: Ch'Tur'Gas Wrath(Large Lobster claw comes out, basically a more powerful version of the Shotgun)
Down B: Shield
Up B: Ulyoth's Gift(Teleport simillar to Mewtwo's)
Z: Xelotath's Madness(Stuns enemy for grab)
Pious will be the same weight as Alex, but much slower. He gains no defense over Alex, but his offense is much greater to make up for it. This is both with his mele attacks and his magic. As a bonus, place Human Pious with a Gladius as an alternate costume.

Also, I'd really like to see Diddy Kong as a clone of DK.

yeah, i always wondered why Donkey Kong was the only representative of the Donkey Kong Country games? 'Cause you know that Dixie Kong would have a good saving move!

DK is technically owned by Nintendo, whereas Diddy and the rest are Rareware.

If they can pull of Marth and Roy from Fire Emblem, and Ness from Earthbound, I demand Mike Jones from the Star Tropics series.

His attacks would be the variety of the weapons he aquired in the games (different ones for different strengths and directions), and his specials would be thusly:

B: shoots out a psychic shockwave. (It would have to be pretty fast, but decrease in power and need a recharge like Bowser's fire, although it would be more game-related if it was related to his damage level.)

Smash B: Uses Tink's Axe to stun an enemy if the timing and positioning is correct, otherwise just damages them a little bit.

Down B: Does the random sign (complete with sprite change), which depending on the number (x1/4, 1/2, 2, or 4) increases or decreases the damage of Mike's next attack (can't do it multiple times for added effect.)

Up B: A triple jump, can use the cleats to get even higher by bouncing off of another player (that is, if it hits someone.)

His grab would probably use his flail, like the hookshot or grapple beam. And the taunt would definately include him sticking bananas in his ears.

Sime: Love the ED idea. Alex's shield should be Mantorok related. And it would make Pious my favorite character to use. Although watching him double jump would look kinda wierd, dunno how they would pull it off... And both of their taunts would have to work like the insanity effects.

Edit: Two years ago, EGM did an April fool's joke that said if you could get like 60 kills in cruel melee you'd unlock Sonic & Tails as playable characters (in those two slots at the bottom left and right of the characters). Boy did that piss people off. Sadly, only Nintendo only characters are included, and two two many pokemon for my taste. Pichu? COME ON, Big N...

lol laugh.gif , so true, I HATE Pokemon with a vengence but my mates love 'em, they're always insisting to play 'Pokemon exclusive battles' one likes being Pikachu & Jigglypuff (serious problem there, surely) and the other likes being Pichu. So I tend to be Mewtwo and whip their bums.

I would like to see Crono from Chrono Trigger. I know he's not owned by Nintendo, but he made his debut on the SNES, which is close enough.

Problem with Chrono is most of his moves are already in use. Whirlwind is taken by Link/YL, confuse would be similar to Marth/Roy, Lightning is done by Pikachu. What else did he have, apart from upgraded versions of lightning? Not to mention there's already four swordsmen(If you count YL as a man).
Frog suffers from the same swordsman problem.
Marle/Ayla could play as a clone of Zelda/Sheik.
Lucca, Robbo and Magus strike me as a bit obscure, but thats really me being to lazy to think of something for them.

Oh how I love SSBM. I have a friend that will only play the N64 version (I think because he sucks at SSMB dry.gif ). I totally agree that they should include Mike, but you didn't mention his Yoyo! I suppose because Ness already has one, but still, that was Mike's main weapon in the first game! To make up for it, Mike could have a wider range of moves with his Yoyo. Anyway, for my non-Nintendo character pick, I say Megaman! biggrin.gif

I haven't played the game in a little while, so I'm gonna wait til I get home and play before I make Megaman's move list.
I finally got a sig!

I wouldn't mind seeing Fighter and maybe black mage from FF1 appearing. And if you include them you've got to bring Garland.

Mike's yo-yo/shooting star would be a regular weapon. he'd probably use a different version of it for weak, strong, and smash attacks. And different directions could use different weapons he's used too, perhaps. I was just doing the specials.

Can't do Snake because he's not a Nintendo character.

And sweet flaming baby Jesus, Magus would be an amazing character to have! They could pull off Chrono if he was Nintendo exclusive. And technically there are 2 swordsmen and clones of said swordsmen. Chrono would make a third style to use.
