Though I was not able to attend this march with my brothers and sisters in the DC Black Bloc I fully support their actions against imperialism. Reports have come to me from the main protest coalition as well as from anarchist organizations I'm in contact with. We can all rejoice that the majority of international coverage of Bush's party will be of allies of the resistance.

The DC Black Bloc tore down a barracade and very nearly reached the presidential motorcade. I have not heard reports of any snowballs or debris hitting the actual motorcade but numerous members of the right wing brown shirts, the Protest Warriors, were injured in battle with the Black Bloc. Moreover, fires were reportedly set and the inauguration ceremony infiltrated.

I've also got reports that the police had to slow down the presidential motorcade at least three times and that snipers were deployed near 14th and PA avenues. There's no word on police casualties but the best estimate is at least ten officers are injured. thirty media personnel were assaulted by police and hundreds of resistance members pepper sprayed or beaten. The number of arrests is very low however and thats something to be thankful for.

I'm not sure about the need for funds for bail or defense and hope that such necessities do not arise. There have been numerous injuries across the country in battles with police, and I'm hearing particularly bad things from Massachusetts. I think this has truly set the tone for Bush's second term. We see him spending nearly 2 times as much on a party for himself as he gave to the tsunami aid. We see heroic resistance fighters being fought back by Bush's storm troopers (both on the streets here and in Iraq) and we see Bush quietely ignoring it all as he attends his private parties.

In any event, the point of this message is to send all my praise to the DC anarchist contingent and to international ANSWER for their organization of the protests. This is truly a great day for resistance and I'm eager to hear what others have seen on the news, particularly outside the US.

Why the hell would your block bloc try to snipe out cops for. If this is true I can see why the police beat the shit out of them everytime they get.

The cops were the ones with snipers. The black bloc does not use fire arms. Yet.
