They will. They still do. The ones who actually believe in the president will just ignore this information and rationalize it away, and the people who understand what is going on but support him will just shrug and say "so what?" or "we need a foothold in the middle east so we can take out all of those other countries before they take us out." Like I said, we are fucked almost beyond belief.

Rhubarb - I'm surprised Bush didn't call a national emergency the night of the election and use his executive powers to halt them indefinitely and put the Dems into a prison camp. Probably if the Dems win the 2008 election...

And Hannibal... You're sounding rather angry. It's not that we don't care that the world is going to hell, it's just that... well, you most often put up absurd points, or the points you mention are redundant and are stated in such a way as to be absurd by nature. It’s hard to take a statement like “George Bush is a vampire” seriously, no matter how much of a blight upon humanity the man is.

But, let's look at this post from a rational perspective. Upon careful inspection, Hannibal’s post isn’t at all what it seems. In fact, it is brilliantly and entirely ironic. His deliberate use of self-degradation and paradox brings to the forefront the mental anguish the man feels at the decay of society, and his bitterness at the inability of the masses to comprehend it. Even though this piece is short in length, the bitter satire speaks volumes.

With his statement “How dare you post this utter nonsense and crap”, he is being both ironic and sagely. First of all, many people might consider much of what he posts to be “nonsense and crap.” Secondly, he is posting upon a subject (information control). The author clearly has shown himself to be against this, and yet requests it in his own post. This hypocrisy is used to savagely mimic the lies and misinformation he feels the current United States presidential administration is exhibiting, contributing to the author’s evident frustration. The statement "if you turn away from the TRUTH then LIES win, and you deserve neither freedom nor a life secure from torture or pain", is another sarcastic remark that depicts the inner torment Hannibal feels at the decay of the human ethos and at the same time speaks of a truth no one can turn away from. This is clearly the methodology of the very cause Hannibal is crusading for, since no one can give out freedom and life to some people and not others.

Hannibal is trying to make us realize that we are all different, but united as members of the human race. We all are thinking, feeling, caring human beings who deserve mutual respect regardless of race, creed, etc. All of our ideas are valuable in their own way and should not be taken for granted in an age where our rights are being reduced to meaningless jargon words that cease to contain the concepts they once held. And for this awareness that Hannibal is brilliantly attempting to bestow upon us, I say, speaking for the entire forum, thank you, kind sir. And shame on me indeed, for thinking that I really should give life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness to privileged individuals, that I should ignore the most prevalent issues of our times in favor of the bliss of ignorance. After reading this overlooked masterpiece of the English language, I can not turn my head to the truth.

Well, Chyld, the political ramifications of this are virtually non-existant because Bush obviously knew this would happen from the start and has been slowly playing the whole thing down. History has been rewritten and so its immaterial now. However I do take offense at one thing in particular here.

They are General Amir Saadi, a liaison between Saddam’s government and UN inspectors; Rihab Taha, a biologist nicknamed “Dr Germ” in the west; her husband, Amir Rashid, the former oil minister; and Huda Amash, another biologist who earned the nickname “Mrs Anthrax“.

Attention administration fuckers! When in the hell did it become acceptable to treat people who work for your enemies as if they were supervillains? Are you that brain dead to assume that these nicknames help in any way to seriously incriminate anyone especially now that you've admitted that there wasnt any anthrax for her to be the Mrs. of? Do you expect people to believe that the persons in question gave themselves these names? What the fuck is wrong with you people???

On second thought, this is a brilliant tactic. Frankly I'd love to have a cool nickname such as "Dr. Germ" I think mine will be "Captain Rycin" yes that's it. That way when I oppose the Bush administration I'll save them the trouble of having to come up with an oh-so intelligent nickname for me.

Sorry for the bad language, tried to edit it but no such luck. This really ticks me off though. Can you imagine if this immature name calling were acceptable in a legal setting? Just the implications in the O.J. trial are too much to consider.

Prosecutor: Your honor I'd like to call Sir Stabsalot to the stand.

OJ: That's not my name.

Prosecutor: Oh sure its not, what are you going to do stab me?

OJ: No I'm just saying that's not my name.

Prosecutor: Than what is your name? Stabby McGee?

OJ: Oh please. I hope you have fun here because as soon as you rest your case we're calling The Aryan Avenger to the stand.

Mark Fuhrman: Hey now dammit!

What? No WMDs? I am astounded. This can't be right. People don't go to war based on total and deliberate lies! It's clearly just a byproduct of the rampant liberal media that has been designed to confuse the poor sap that reads it.

Ah, boards with nails in them... That was good times...

Thanks, Sime; you made me chuckle.

Oh, and last night's Daily Show covered this very news subject. I laughed my head off at the entire program, the show is still brilliant. I <3 political satire. I meant to put this comment at the end of my previous post, but I obviously got carried away with other matters.
