Anyway, my dad downloaded Firefox a while back and I just started using it. Now Internet Explorer and Bill Gates can basically fuck off because Firefox has both these forums and FR.com as my homepages. I just need to move all my favorites.

And I'm in love with my new avatar.

Firefox should import IE favorites when you install it. If not, check out the Tools menu or elsewhere for an Import/Export option.

Personally I haven't been thrilled with Firefox since 0.8. I'm still using Opera which has its own problems. I like Opera and Firefox but I think someone has to do some work and create a TRULY revolutionary browser. I'm just not impressed at the snail's pace speed the browsers are taking with innovations.

Show me something different, damn it!

Firefox 1.0 is so much better, its must faster and it supports java and flash and stuff like that, and you never get any pop ups or search bars that appear from no where that you have to go to the trouble of uninstalling.

I haven't tried multiple homepages yet I probably should.

Multiple homepages? How does that work then?

I love Firefox. Its popup blocker is the most efficient one I've seen, yet it doesn't block everything. Plus, I like having multiple tabs of websites...

I <3 Firefox. In fact, I <3 it so much that I have a "Get Firefox" button on my blog's sidebar. I also <3 Opera, which is my primary browser.

1.) Create a bookmark folder called whatever (i.e. "Homepage Bookmarks") and put all the pages in there that you want to start up when you load Firefox.

2.) Tools/Options/General/Home Page/"Use Bookmark". Then slect the folder you created. Those pages will now start up with Firefox.

One huge advantage Opera has over Firefox is its ability to remember the pages you have open. If I have 10 tabs open and I close Opera, the next time I open it they will all open exactly as I left them. This makes homepages completely unnecessary.

It's a simple feature, I don't see why Firefox hasn't at least implemented an option for it yet.

Go to the opera beta forums and get opera 8.0 beta 1. I've been using it for over a week now, its stable and has some nice things added in.

Here is a list of all changed since the last "official" release.
http://www.opera.com...logs/operabeta/

The features I actually am using:
Simple retrieval of closed pages and blocked pop-ups.
New start bar gives easy access to useful features.
Enhanced RSS newsfeed reader is available without activating e-mail client.
Support for XMLHttpRequest; Gmail Web mail is fully supported.
Fixed problem selecting the first letter of a text selection with the mouse. - this was damn annoying.
Added trash can button on the page bar that notifies of blocked pop-ups and doubles as a repository for closed pages that can be retrieved.

Interesting indeed. Hard to respect MS when you read good articles like that.

I've been liking Opera since you pushed me back onto it. I think Firebird is doing a better job of being "IE friendly" more than Opera but Opera still has the best features in my opnion. smile.gif

I love this browser so much you'd think I have some vested interest in their company.
