Personally, I hate the idea of bookstores. I don't re-read novels very often, so I see no reason to own my own copy. Though I will go to a bookstore with a pen and paper, jot down books I'm interested in, then go and order them from the library.
I love libraries.

Remember Emu's face, people; one day it's going to be on the news alongside a headline about blowing some landmark to smithereens, and then we can all sigh and say, "She was such a normal person".....
....We'd be lying though.

"And the Evil that was vanquished shall rise anew. Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk amongst the innocent and Terror shall consume they that dwell upon the Earth. The skies will rain fire. The seas shall become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked! And all creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!" - Mephisto
Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.

I think it's my pack rat nature that makes me obsessed with owning books. That and the fact that I can get most of the books I want for less than $1.00 from Amazon.com Marketplace!

anyway, senior year i spent 80% of my day in the library, but i never
go to the public library, in fact, i havent been to a library since highschool (4yrs ago).
while i believe books ought to be shared, i cant help but feel a little attatchment to the particular book i have read. i like to dogear and highlite certain pages or passages, and i like being familiar with that version in general.
so i never can bring myself to check-out books anymore. my books are like pet rocks or something, you know? they're my books.

When I used to go on forensics tourneys to other campuses, I'd love to see what huge volumes they'd have on the space programs. Then, I'd check-out said books through my campus library's share program. Ahh, 649.1
Of course the naughty scary government would know what books I was reading. How refreshing nobody else has swatted with that comment yet.
