Did you guys know that there are more people who list their official religion as "Jedi" in England than there are who list there religion as "Jewish"?

Well that's neither here nor there. What I wanted to do was start up a thread full of translations and definitions for any uninitiated SW fan who might stumble on this forum and wonder what the devil we're blathering about. Call it a public service.

OT: stands for Original Trilogy

PT: stands for Prequel Trilogy

GL: stands for George Lucas

TPM: stands for The Phantom Menace (ep 1)

AOTC: stands for Attack of the Clones (ep 2)

ROTS: stands for Revenge of the Sith (ep 3)

ANH: stands for A New Hope (ep4)

ESB: stands for Empire Strikes Back (ep5)

ROTJ: stands for Return of the Jedi (ep6)

Also there are many lesser known people we might reference but I'm scarcely equipped to define them all.

That is a handy glossary of abbreviations, however my guess is that if any uninitiated Star Wars fan ever wandered onto this forum, they'd probably quickly scamper off. wink.gif

haha good point. After reading a sentence like this:

"In KOTOR it's generally accepted that all Jedi wear polka dot underwear and Obi Wan makes an obscure remark about this in ANH. However in the PT we see the Jedi all wearing thongs and this is clearly a mistake on the part of GL."

Yeah, definately running for the hills.

Oh, speaking of which,

KotOR: Knights of the Old Republic- a great starwars video game that does more to expand on the SW universe than all three prequels and the holiday special combined.

yesterday I picked up an x-box box in a shop and looked at it for 5 minutes. I would've bought it but I couldn't find a copy of KotOR anywhere! Maybe its been deleted? Ok, two more terms

Gusher- mindless fanatic who loves anything created by Lucas

Basher- mindless fanatic who hates anything created by Lucas

Basher- mindless fanatic who hates anything created by Lucas

I'm sorry, but that's completely incorrect!! I don't bash the OT (but will bash the SE), so that's too generalized. Those who truly bash ANYTHING created by Lucas wouldn't even bother coming to this forum.

In fact, I consider myself a "Defender of the OOT."

Oh yeah, add

OOT---Original Original Trilogy, the films prior to the Special Editions.
Flying Ferret

Battle for the Galaxy--read the "other Star Wars"

All I know is I haven't seen the real prequels yet.

yeah I was generalising a bit back there. 'Basher' and 'gusher' are such fanboy terms anyway, and (I think) were only created after the release of TPM that maybe we can define Gusher as a fan of the prequels with Basher the opposite.

as for KOTOR, im in the UK and I cant find it anywhere. I've seen the odd copy on e-bay, so perhaps i'll get it there.

"Star Wasr" refers to the OT franchise gone bad.

Jariten- You cant imagine how highly this game is reccomended. It's great the whole way through but the Jedi training is the best. When Master Vandar says "May the force be with you" it sent chills down my spine.

My favourite part is the Big Plot Twist that occurs about 2/3 of the way through the game. It's stunning in itself, but the way it's set up is just utterly brilliant.

You can buy the game from gameplay.co.uk for £15.

The sandpeople had women and children. We know this because Anakin killed them how could he tell? The children might be smaller but I never saw a sandperson with breasts. Did they hike their skirts and show him some leg or something?

Also, I can see the point of wanting to kidnap a human and use her as a slave, but they didn't. They tied her to a flimsy easel for a month. It's assumed they had to feed and give her water. What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.

And you'd think there'd be some better term for someone who likes SW other than fanboy and fangirl. At least we know what a Trekkie is.
