Now, that is an excellent point!
"Sandpeople are easily frightened, but will return in greater numbers..."
There is even a mention in the ANH Novelisation where Biggs tells Luke that Owen can "single-handely hold off Sandpeople with a blaster."
Yes, the PT's paint a different picture of the Tusken Raiders. I don't mind them shooting at the podracers, this seems just like the sort of cowardly thing they'd do, or just for giggles.
Just an aside here. Obi-Wan says that the blast-points on the sandcrawler couldn't have been made by sandpeople because they're so "precise," and that only "imperial troops" could do it... which makes me scratch my head for TPM. Firing at...and HITTING an object going at 500+ miles per hour is pretty damn "precise!"

Maybe Obi-Wan was referring to certain important mechanical areas of the Sand-Crawler rather than the overall ability to shoot at something the size of New York brown stone.
I understand that having your mother beaten to a pulp will piss you off, but that doesn't justify genocide against an entire tribe - especially when you consider the crappy plot surrounding the death.
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an obi-wan to go.

In any case, I think it's time to let this discussion die. It's strayed quite a long way from the original topic and it's getting to the stage where we're repeating the same arguments over and over again.

The sand people ran away from obi wan because he was making a KRYAT DRAGON cry. which is their worst predator. They are to dumb, stupid, etc to know that. Anyway I would think from their perspective one guy verse their whole tribe would be fine. Did you expect the whole tribe to run away to another random tribe for "greater Numbers". no, they were in the heart of their village you cant get any greater that that. that deserves a face also.the jedi had no idea anakin was fucking padme on naboo . what lead you to that conclusion?

Really? It looked to me like they were just running away from Obi-Wan. In any case, how would running away from what they think is a dangerous animal make them 'stupid'? What would be stupid would be to go on attacking Anakin after it became clear they didn't have a chance against him - which, I imagine, would be very soon.
Are you seriously saying that after Anakin kicked the first few Sand People's arses the entire tribe - including women, children and anyone else who didn't have weapons or training to fight - decided that it would be a good idea to attack him? Just think about this for a moment. If you see a maniac with a glowing sword and telekinetic powers running around slaughtering your friends/relatives/parents, and all you have are simple weapons which are clearly no use against him, what do you do? Unless you're either particularly brave or particularly stupid, you run away - especially if you're 'easily startled', like Obi-Wan claims the Sand People to be.

You can't disregard them just because you dont like them. They are part of SW history whether you like them or not.
That's one of the funniest things I've ever read. But the scary thing is I think you were being serious. We can't disregard these films because we don't like them? Of course we can, you moron. They're just shitty D-Grade movies. I don't think there's any law anywhere which dictates we have to accept D-Grade sequels or prequels if we don't want to.
I disregard the Batman sequels. I disregard Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. I can damn well disregard these stupid things too.
And this other post is particularly hilarious -
This is an argument? You're basically just saying that all the fourteen year old prequel gushers at the biggest prequel gusher community on the internet agree with you.
That's great, but I can I ask you a question?
So what?
Edit - Sorry for interrupting. Carry on, everyone.

Then how would they have had any idea he was visiting with mumsy? He has a pretty fucked list of priorities here:
#1: Boink Padme
#2: Stare creepily at Padme
#3: Temper tantrum
#4: Go save mom, if there's nothing good on TV.
It makes perfect sense. Every time I get started I kidnap mushroom hunters and tie them to easels in the desert.

I have to say, though, what was the point of them torturing Shmi. The Tusken's behavior is completely eratic from the OT to PT. I thought I saw some McQuarrie artwork somewhere for ROTJ where it shows a scene of the Tusken Raiders trading with people...???

What's a D-grade movie?

Well, often bad films are referred to as B-Grade movies. However, I believe the prequels deserve a lower category, alongside Con Air and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Hence, they are D-Grade movies.

I think the answer to that can be found in a little known cut scene, which I'll detail here:
Sand person 1: "At last we will reveal ourselves, at last we shall have our revenge against Shmi Skywalker"
Sand person 2: "Yes."
So you see, it makes perfect sense. Much like the Sith the Tusken raiders were doing this for revenge. Revenge for what? Ummmm... why hey, look over there, a convenient CGI distraction!
