I was watching ROTJwith commentary the other day and at the part where luke is about to take a swing at the emperor...lucas says how palpatine wants luke to take vaders place and how vader wants luke to kill palpatine so they can rule together. about 3 seconds after he says that luke tries to kill palpatine but vader stops him? ummm why after what you just said would vader do that ya moron?

how dare you question the work of genius? who are you to suggest George W. Lucas didn't know what the hell he was talking about? Do you think you have some sort of special cosmic permission to even start THINKiNG about Star Wars or George Lucas? What is this world coming to?

Let me give you the standard textbook answers to your questions my friend
take your pick:

1.George Lucas is a creative genius
2.Star Wars is just a movie for kids
3.Star Wars is not just a movie for kids, its mystical genius and intellectually deep
4.All movies/stories are the same, there is no such thing as plagiarism its homage
5.I admire the man who can rake in the millions, why not?Its the American way.
6.What are you a communist?
7.Shut the fuck up you conspiracy nut crazy lunatic random posting loser.
8.I am the voice of the new revolution, hear my self righteous microrants about...oh whatever...
9.What are you a star trek fan?
10.Don't give in to hatred of Star Wars, its evil.

Took you this long, huh?

Also, I can see the point of wanting to kidnap a human and use her as a slave, but they didn't. They tied her to a flimsy easel for a month. It's assumed they had to feed and give her water. What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.

You actually said that? What more can I say.

Even I didn't notice it until now. Largely because I didn't give a shit.

Anyway, do you people think that Vader might have been lying about ruling the galaxy 'father and son' as just a way to lure Luke into his clutches?
