I've written three vampire hunter novels with my character Christopher Allectus. I've gotten some good feedback on them from publishers and I was thinking of posting some of the writing here to get opinions. This is also kind of an experiment to see if serious fiction can work on the forums, as I hope it can.

I've never really read any vampire hunter novels. I've never read any pro-vampire novels either.
I hope serious fiction can work on the forums, since I've unearthed an old serious piece I was trying to turn into something worth reading, and I might have to post it soon. Or possibly post it in sections.

I've never been much into vampire stuff, but yeah, go ahead. However, I'll only review if you check out my stuff in return.

The sandpeople had women and children. We know this because Anakin killed them how could he tell? The children might be smaller but I never saw a sandperson with breasts. Did they hike their skirts and show him some leg or something?

Also, I can see the point of wanting to kidnap a human and use her as a slave, but they didn't. They tied her to a flimsy easel for a month. It's assumed they had to feed and give her water. What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.

I think I read the orrigional Dracular when I was eight, but I'm not sure, as it was from my primary school library. That would be about the extent of my knowlege.

It's largely modern, I'm not sure what sort of style it falls into and from the great comments I've gotten I think I'm going to start posting chapters.

Well, feedback is a great tool. Maybe I'm just being a tad paranoid. The only way to see if your novels work is to run off a few copies and see if people like them. Mind you, your family and friends opinions mean nothing.
I read a great guide on the net the other day. It was from the maker of DILBERT COMICS. He was giving advice on how to start your own comic strip. The author claims that the only way to see if they work is by the 'copy test'. Give some one you know a copy of the comic. If they laugh and say it's good, then give it back to you, well, the comic sucked. If they say "I need to copy this and show it to my pal" then it worked.
I realize sharing comics is easier than sharing a full novel, but maybe you could give the novel to a pal, let him read it, and then say "would you reccommend it to a friend of yours?" If they agree, and do give it to some one else, then they probably did like it, and didn't just say it was good because they're you're friend. Who would want to reccommend shit to a friend? Of course they may just lie and say they'll reccommend it, but if you know the person they reccommended it too, then you can keep tabs on the situation.

Jordan- That would absolutely kill me. You should never rely on whether other people like your work or not, you're the one who matters. Take constrctive criticism yes but don't go up to a friend and then come away crushed simply because they didnt like your stuff, that's suicide.
Everyone else- Alright, I'll post some of the second book because I believe that to be less tedious than the first.
