I don't know. I'm reading Descartes, and he's put forth the statement that he can prove through irrefutable logic and science that God exists. I don't know how well his claim will be backed up, but I'll find out soon!

His argument for God he draws from his argument for consciousness. The argument for consciousness, it needn't be said, is damn strong. The corollary "so then = God" is pretty weak. It's just Anselm's ontological writ large.

Read it in French so you can be a big old poseur and show us all up!

Nah, I only took Spanish in high school, and I was never very good at it. I could fake it and ace the class, but I still have no practical knowledge of the language.

Yes, that says exactly what you think it does. And that is the extent of my Spanish vocabulary.

I think the meditations were written in Latin and translated to French, but I'm not sure. Gotta read the preface again.
