I signed up for it and it's awesome! You pay for music by the megabyte and the prices are really cheap. You can get an entire album for about $0.40 to $0.60 USD. You can choose what bitrate you download at, what format (mp3, ogg vorbis, etc.) and everything. You just put a little money in your account and then download away! They have quite a nice selection too.

Just sending my recommendation out there.

I remember Kevin Rose doing a spot on this a few months back (well, it was when he was co-hosting The Screen Savers with Patrick Norton, so it was a bit of a while back, anyway) and they seemed kind of unsure of its legitimacy. Looks like it's the real deal if it's lasted this long though.

Yeah I remembered them checking out some Russian music site. It's been pretty good for me. Well worth the money for the quality and options. Downside: you may get more cyrillic spam than you have previously. A small price to pay.
