Although it came out last year Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell is the best game I have ever played.

I have nothing against Splinter Cell, but "Best Game" it ain't. But then, I'll argue the greatness of all things Metal Gear until my grave, so I won't go any further than that.

Did you mean Suikoden 3? Or did you just get into the second one this past year?

Here are my games of 2003, in no real order. Well, it's numerical order, but they aren't ranked.

Soul Calibur II - The only fighter I've liked since Street Fighter 2. C'mon, it's got a zombie pirate in it! No joke!

Ocarina of Time/Master Quest - Sweetest N64 game, and a remake with different dungeons. I've beaten the game with all heart pieces, fairys, and gold skulltulas in both versions. How sad is that?

Zelda Collectors Edition - Ignore another re-release of OoT, and play Zelda's 1 & 2 without having your system freeze ten minutes into the game!

Knights of the Old Republic - Every bulbous neck has a silver lining. The story on this one is SO COOL! Especially, like 35 hours into it. It's what every Starwars thing should be.

Viewtiful Joe - It's very Japanese, has beautiful graphics (the most gorgeous "toon" style I've seen yet), and is so hard I've given up on it. What more could you ask for?

Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction would be on there, but it was made in 2000.

Jordan - What's your Battle.net account? I play D2:LoD! My account name is Scary_Banana, add me to your friends list. I played WC 3 at my friends house last year and it ROCKED!

I hated Need for Speed, but that's because I have an innate ability to suck completely at every racing game out there but Rad Racer for NES, F-Zero X for N64, and occasionally Mario Kart 64. I'm so bad at NfS, I can't beat the first challenge on easy.

Zombie Pirate=brilliant, and he's also one of the characters that I actually don't completely suck with.

Prince of Persia was my favorite title of the year, KOTOR was up there as well, Dungeons and Dragons Heroes was my surprise hit and my biggest disappointment was Medal of Honor Rising Sun, went back and played the very first MoH for PS1 and enjoyed that way more.

MOH: Rising Sun was a huge disappointment. I think the game was fun to play through but by the time you got into it it was over. I didnt' even know what to say when it ended I was just in shock. I had no idea that the end was even near.

It was still fun, just not worth buying at all. You could rent it and beat it in an afternoon.

I agree though, the first MOH is loads of fun. Way more challenging too.

I just finished reading PSM's top ten of 2003. Disappointment. Looky:
  • 10-Beyond Good & Evil
  • 9-Def Jam Vendetta
  • 8-Final Fantasy X-2
  • 7-NBA Street Vol. 2
  • 6-Midnight Club II
  • 5-Socom II: U.S. Navy Seals
  • 4-Ratchet And Clank: Going Commando
  • 3-Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution
  • 2-SSX3
  • 1-Jak II
Okay, granted, they're video game journalists and they usually know what they're talking about. My only question: how does VF4:Evolution make the list, while Soul Calibur II gets the cold shoulder? SC2 (now that I've actually played it) definitely comes close to topping my list for 2003. It was gorgeous, for one thing, played like a dream, and had some absolutely amazing special moves, and it was easy to get into, but still extremely challenging. VF4:E was the next best thing to an expansion pack. One new gameplay mode, two new fighters, and a graphical upgrade. THAT'S IT.
I have some problems with Midnight Club II being on there too, but that's just a matter of taste in game genres, so it's not really an arguable situation.

I like Cervantes, but I'm best with Raphael (Left handed fencers kick ass.) I use Taki just to watch her bounce around. Very odd choice of a primary costume if you as me...

I still haven't played Prince of Persia. :-(

The PSM list isn't even that great for a list of only PS2 games. However, there are other platforms with other great games that should be accounted for.

Even as a solely PS2 list, Prince of Persia should be on there.
