Has anyone ever played this? It's a very ultra-violent game that makes no bones about what it is. Don't expect to find three D rendered worlds or something like, the game isn't into graphics so much that it gets full of itself. I highly recomend the computer version because you can download tons of mods. The weapons are great and the in game comments by the characters make it even better. There is an occasional bug and you'll find levels where you learn to wish the sniper rifle had never been invented but there are also some where sniping is wholey impossible. Also, the Redeemer is just a bad arsed weapon and you're sure to have a great deal of fun showing off various new tactics while murdering your friends in assault, capture the flag, or straight up kill contests.

Oh, MATE!!!! When I was still in Japan, me and Subliminal Message THRIVED on that game after work. There's just so much fun you can have in that game.

We killed each other, we killed bots. We had all sorts of cool skins and voices. For a long while, Subliminal Message's character looked like a Lego Man and I have been unable to see Lego Men in the same light since. They may look friendly but behind that beaming smile, great evil lurks.

After killing each other began to test our friendship, we decided we'd go tag team against the bots so we custom made some really dangerous ones to up the stakes. We had Darth Vader, Chewbacca and Yoda in the mix. While there were voices to go with Vader and Chewie, we couldn't find a Yoda voice so we settle for a Jack Nicolson voice instead. So Yoda went around sniping people and saying things like "Would you mind getting out of my way, son? You're using up my oxygen." Needless to say, I never looked at Yoda in the same way after that.

Also, you can get so many levels from the internet because tonnes of people with more time (and skill) than you and I create their own custom levels.

Oh, fun fun fun! Now, I miss that game.

Had a lot of fun at lans with that game, and the newer UT2K4. My character is Bender, complete with cigar, beer and about 50 of his phrases taken from Futurama. Give me a flak cannon, and all is good in the world.

Unreal beats Halo every time. My character was a pixellated version of mario. Good times, good times.

Different styles of FPS. In deathmatch UT wipes the floor with almost anything, but for a single\co-op game it can't compete with Halo alien arse kicking. Different pacing as well. Halo is designed for console after all.

If Halo had a bucket load of extra deathmatch levels and bots, we'd see some serious competion.

NYAMG's story is worryingly familiar, from the twisted legoman to the JN Yoda. I've heard that somewhere before.

Me and some frields had a frag fest one night, One of them recently bought UT2k4, we thought we'd install it, play it for a while and then play some halo. Wrong, we played unreal for 8 hours that night and not a bit of Halo. We also had UT at my school for a while on the yearbook server. Whupping up on everyone there was great fun.

UT is better than Halo, but then again, many games are. I don't even know how many countless hours my friends and I played Perfect Dark for, but when we need to shoot eachother, that's the game we break out, not Halo.

I own UT, it's got kickass mods, and nothing tops the assault maps.

Hmmm - I never played unreal tournament but got sucked into Halo.
Having only played one of the two contenders I'd vote for the one I've actually played. I may be biased in this situation.

Of first person shooters - Goldeneye or anything on a goldeneye platform... as well as the Halo games. Though they don't really compare directly.

Meyh, Halo was rather boring when I played it, though that was only once.

And on UT news, I lost my magnificent Bender avatar sad.gif
