I picked up a copy of LotR: The Third Age for my gamecube yesterday, and I have to say it's not what I was expecting. For those that don't know, it's and RPG wherein you play a party of hero's following in the wake of the Fellowship. From what I had heard of the game, I was under the impression that it would pretty much be SW: KotOR in the LotR universe. Sadly, it seems to be more like Diablo. There are no cities, you just wander around and fight random encouters...many random encounters...and get better items. It's relativly entertaining, but has no replay value. I'm hoping to finish it within the week, so I can take it back to EB and get my $70 back.

Yeah, EA only has the liscence for the movies, so all they can do is sling orc bashing together with cinimatic clims from the films. You should read some game reviews before you go and buy a game at its new price, regardless of hype.
