QUOTE (Jane Sherwood @ Dec 2 2004, 05:25 PM)
QUOTE (SimeSublime @ Dec 2 2004, 10:53 AM)
And Jane, would wibble be in reference to Blackadder Goes Fourth?

Indeed it would be. Only I don't do the underwear and pencils thing.

Well, would you stick a pair of panties on your head, ram pencils up your nose, and go "wibble"?

*suddenly has a very unsettling flashback*

Erm, nevermind...

Alright that's quite enough of that. This project now moves into phase two: the one where I try to make people write.

The L&E goers amongst you might remember my fool is a crock. we all wrote stories that involved fools. Well I've decided to do something a bit more structured and I hope you'll all participate. I'm starting a thread in the screening room forum. To post a story you must follow these guidelines that o provide a slight framework. The story should involve the following:

One character should be named Martin Chuzzlewit.

Ten words from here that were not posted by you should be used. One of the words should be used to describe Martin Chuzzlewit.

One scene should occur in a barber shop where customers can order food and eat while they have their hair cut.

Part of the plot should involve a missing briefcase full of nude photos of F Scott Fitzgerald.

The deadline for entry is non-existant and the prize is insubstantial. They can be of any genre you want, from horror to satyre to (I hope someone takes this one) erotic science fiction. They can be any length as well. Maybe if we hire some large men we can get some of the more Redcloud inclined people among us to make this another feature like the legendary My Fool is a Crock literary movement.
Here's the topic

Tales of M. Chuzzlewit

I've got a few compound words to add:
Twatty bollocks: Offensive nonsense. (It's a phrase that defines itself!)
Monkeybutt: Compound word used to break concentration.
Fuzzy pickle: Compound phrase used to evoke laughter, or at least a half-arsed fake grin.

Hurrah! Twattybollocks! Such a useful word!

I'll do a story in a bit. God knows, the My Fool Is A Crock story I swore I'd do in August hasn't got any further than three paragraphs yet...

Mmmmm...squigs....tasty....

Anyway...

Desultory-Moving from one subject to another at random durring speech
Prorogue-To suspend or delay, especially as in a parliament
Diskotek (spelling varries)-Dance club
Futhark-Norse runic alphabet
ornamentation-to decorate or adorn

And as for a phrase, if I can cheat a litte, "Beautiful as an Airport." Again, self-explanitory.

-edit-
Missive-a written message
