I remember reading something about it a few monthes ago and then later seeing some screen shots. I saw the commercial yesterday and it looks pretty boss. I was wondering if anyone's played it and to explain. I really wanna know what it has to do with Goldeneye or Goldeneye 007.

I haven't played it, but I picked up the box out of interest at the local gaming shop. It has nothing to do with the N64 GoldenEye plot wise. You aren't even James Bond. Instead you play a rouge agent, who happens to have a golden artificial eye. I think the idea is to be a villian in the Bond universe, from memory.

You're a fallen MI6 agent that goes to work for Goldfinger. Other than that, anybody who goes around tempting to top the metaphysical goodness that is embedded in Goldeneye's crappy graphics and AI (Lets be honest here, there are levels where the guards can shoot you through cielings and will see you from behind 80 feet away) will be stuffed completely. You just can't beat Goldeneye. I don't know why, but it's my favorite FPS ever too. Some day I'm going to make a mod for an existing FPS engine that copys Goldeneye (while remaining just ambiguous enough to dodge copyright infringements), and ads a ton more multiplayer options and guns and other cool stuff I'd like to see... Those will be the days...

Don't bother. I've played the Golden Eye mod for Half Life, and it just isn't the same. GoldenEye007 had some magical property, so that even an exact replica of it holds nowhere near the glory. It's strange, that such a flawed game stands supreme.

So wait, the only reason it's called Goldeneye is because you have a golden eye!? That's pretty stupid.

Oh and Perfect Dark comes close to Goldeneye in my opinion. The voices are hilarious, and a lot of missions are pretty fun.

I didn't like the plot to Perfect Dark, too cliche. And I HATED Joanna. She was just bloody annoying.

Yeah, and I clocked a week straight in my Perfect Dark character, the multiplayer was really slick, but there's just that strange intangible essence in Goldeneye that didn't quite transfer over in the pseudo-sequel.
