although i know this is a "star wars" site ( and i might ad anti-star wars...and thats a good thing )...i think its correct in stating that there is a "linkage" here...the lastest "star trek" series is a "prequell" of sorts...and if you follow things close...( go to www.saveenterprise.com ) you will find that the creators of "enterprise" are trying to follow things as not to"upset" the time flow of the original series and up to voyager...for example "enterprise" on tv will not come close persay to the romulant aspect ...( remember in the original series the romulants were not VIEWED UNTIL KIRKS DAY )...although if there is a next trek flim it will focus on the crew of the nx 01 at the start of the romulant war and from what i have read NO RENENDERING OF THE LOOKS OF THE ROMULANTS WILL BE SHOWN....the prequelling in enterprise is better than in star wars...( enterprise nx 01 does not have deflector shields, nor tractor beams, really the nx 01 is primative compare to later ferderation starships for example ) despite the shows "theme" music it is really a good show...and with season 4 i think the creators of the show have found a stride...its a shame old lucas could not have shown the restraint that is found in the star trek prequell ( the nx 01 top speed is warp 5 and thats only for a short time ) ...i am sure the ep3 sw will tank soon after its release...look at the poster...it sucks...although star trek does have its short comings , it is not as a jumbled mess as lucas has made the prequells let alone the butchery of ep "4 5 and 6"...lucas have alienlated allot of fans from the original release back in 1977 and any business man will tell you thats not good....old customers that brought from you back in 1977 will continue to buy your product / service until they die...in the time between thier children or close friends will be by word of mouth current / future customers and the cycle contiunes...in other words one will have a built in customer base...even though people say its lucas creation a word of warning is needed...NO MATTER THE "NAME" OF A PRODUCT OR SERVICE ( SAY ROLEX OR OMEGA WATCHES ) IF THE PRODUCT DOES NOT LIVE UP TO ITS NAME, NO MATTER WHAT THE "NAME" IS IF THE FINISH PRODUCT IS CRAP...THE FINISH PRODUCT IS STILL CRAP...DESPITE WHAT ITS "CREATOR" WANTS TO SAY AS TO WHY YOU SHOULD PAY X AMOUNT FOR PRODUCT Y...lucas has forgotten the people who made him...the true SW fan should as malcom x said "by any means nessary" avoid giving lucas one red cent for viewing ep 3...i have already made planes on how i will see it and render unto lucas next to nothing for it...

Since you are a star trek fan, i have been meaning to ask one of you guys this question. There's this Jedi in Episode i who looks like a specific alien from STAR TREK THE MOTION PICTURE, but I have yet to find the pic of the ST Alien I am looking for, do you know the one I'm talking about? On board the Enterprise... Here's a pic of the Jedi:

[also his names "Koon" for Christ sakes...tell that to the nonbelievers...]

I'd agree with you about the STAR TREK prequel stuff being better, except that every episode I've seen has focused on Jolene Blalock running around in her underwear. This is not a bad thing, naturally, but it makes for a pretty sill sci-fi.

Also, they had the transporter technology in episode 1, which I think was silly. More room for growth would have been nice.

(not watching, so not 100% informed here)
"I had a lot of different ideas. At one point, Luke, Leia and Ben were all going to be little people, and we did screen tests to see if we could do that." -George Lucas, in STAR WARS: the Annotated Screenplays (p197).

I think Civilian was referring to Episode I of that new Star Trek series.

I think that goes for just about everyone. The first time I saw it I had the biggest feeling of "what the fuck?" ever. It's easy lisening! EASY LISENING!
