Meh... I've given it a few hours, I'm not particulary impressed with it. Hack and Slashes don't work well with me if there's no story for me to follow to play it. Just getting a bigger sword to kill a bigger rat isn't enough for me without any other reward without being able to fully customize my character or actually play the role I want to. And in WoW you're stuck in a particular standard RPG class in one role. Although I haven't been able to play in a party with people I know yet though, so maybe the player interaction factor will boost it up into "not bad" status. Somehow Diablo 2 is still fun if I've got a friend killing things with me...

Ok, I've given it many more hours, and am now legitimately entertained to consider purchasing it, assuming the price is cut in half. I know the glee of ripping people off for products (When you can manage to get someone to buy leather armor off of you for 2 silver when a shop would only take it for 30 copper, and it would normally sell for 3 silver, it's great. Profit, woo!) but the day I pay 13$ a month for this game is the day I become a rock star, writer, and am showered with attractive women who actually notice me. That's just bloody laughable until I get a rather high disposable income. Slade: Not Your Average MMORPGer.

Meh, 13$ a month is not that much. I think it's cheaper if you get a longer subscription. Come on and play it! Me and Joey are going to. You know you wanna. biggrin.gif

I heard you can almost do everything by yourself in this game? Minus the huge quests and everything, right? And transportation is very friendly to both older and newer players?

...I don't really like that... where's the rewards?! That you have to work HARD for??

That makes it so you can go explore more. Don't worry, there are rewards for work. You can get mounts, but you need to be like level 50 and have 80k gold. I had a level 14 who crafted a bit of the time and never hit 1 gold. Also: I will get the game once I get the cash for a subscription.

LTTS - What the hell's the point of playing one of these games if you have to invest a thousand play hours before you start being able to do what you want?

Sime - No it doesn't, does it?

Also: I got the people in my guild to try and reserve the name Slade for me when I get a subscription. I hate it when other people take it. Irks me to know end, because I'm stuck being Berin Nightcloak or Akhz Dar'An or some other name that isn't Slade (Southpaw last name optional).

Byron is going to play with us too! ~glee!~

The name I always use is Rainey, surname Daze. Joey always usues Reinerfore. Byron used Chaardunukk when we all gamed together. blink.gif My alternate characters would usually be other weather names. I had Snowey, Stormey, Cloudey, & Hailey at one point.

C'mon, weather names? You need medieval fantasy names! Stuff like "Tor the Destroyer" or "Drayna Moondancer" or "Tarkin Silverleaf" or "Orkz0rz6669" or even "Celena Strumpyshorts"/"Grankugsl'sagh" or "Myrrdhass Blighthaven." And the ever obscure "Kas Nala'Dak."

I should do this for a living. If you're in need of a good RPG name, send me your race, class, professon, and any other information you think will be helpful, along with 12.99USD to DarkFedora@gmail.com . I'll give you five, in case one or more are taken.

FREE BONUS!!!!!: If you can tell me where I got the last name in this post, "Kas Nala'Dak," send it to me with the subject "MMORPG Name Contest," and if you are correct, I'll send you some names FREE OF CHARGE. That's right, folks! FREE!

I remember at an allnighter Diablo 2 LAN I named my paladin "Duffman". All night long I was yelling "Duffman has gained a level!", "Duffman is kicking ass!" and "Duffman is abandoning his friends to a grisly death to search for treasure!"

I dunno, but its an odd sense of achievement when you get there.
