I'm curious how everyone came to reside here in our happy online utopia. I'm actually not sure how it happened for me. I think I read everything on the site and I was probably on one drug or another so I was up late and after doing the five hundredth run with the Jerry Bruckheimer plot generator I emailed Chefelf cuz there wasn't anything else to do and I couldnt write more articles and he suggested I could go to the forums. After a while I did, at first it was out of curiousity because so many of the contributers to the site hung around here and then I started getting into the SW forum as well as the news forum and I've been about ever since.

I had been an L&E chum for some time, and when he emailed me offering to host my forum on his new mystery message boards, I couldn't say "no". Well I could've, but that would have been very silly.

Plus there were his overbearing man charms.

I started at Yahtzee's old EZboard forum when I was about fifteen, then basically stuck around the whole time he was gone until the link was put up leading to newer one here. Then on May 20th (I looked up the post), I finally started venturing out into some of the other places around here.

And boy am I glad I did! I mean, so much so I'm like the ninth most frequent poster here (I looked that up, too)! I have more friends here than I do offline! ...Or at least, I think most of you are friends. That's actually kind of sad when I think about it...

I also started on the old Yahtzee's old EZboard forum. Oh, the popup ads were evil. For reasons that I can't(and don't particularly want to)remember I stopped posting there. Eventually, I thought "lets give his forum a go again" and was surprised by the transition to the new Chefelf flavour. Soon enough spread out of Yahtzee's board and ran into the various L&E guest posters, as well as a few notable others, and wasted way too much time here since, as can be seen by my post count.

Here's my story (and JOrdan's and Madam Corvax's, and perhaps others' by now):

i used to post a bit on theforce.net. then chefelfs SW hate lists caused a bit of a ruckus and a bit of backlash over there. Then Vwing appeared to tell them to cool off, posting a link here at the same time. looks like i was the only one from there to follow it.

I started a long long time ago on the best wargaming forum on the 'net. Still there, actually. From that, I discovered 8-Bit Theatre, and from there, I found a link to Lance and Eskimo. Not quite understanding what was going on, I found a link to a piece on Maxwells Silver Hammer, discovered FullyRamblomatic, and stuck with it.

Eventually, I joined the EZBoard forum, in the month or two before Yahtz ran off to America. Obviously, when the big crossover came, I stopped threatening to hug Jane, hopped onboard, and eventually became the first paid-up FR to start browsing the waters of the other fourms.

By this time, obviously, I'd scoured the rest of L&E twice over, but I feel most at home with the cynical rantings of an ex-pat...

I came to know of L&E through Zach. Then I met Nate when I wrote a guest article thingy for L&E, and started chatting with him on AIM. The day he opened the board, he invited me to come register, and I just kinda stuck around.

Mah brothers, step awaay from the shadow, the everpresent darkness that haunts us from every angle! We must RISE up and face the shadow of theforce.net with all our might, in the name of the Almighty Chefelf, until the darkness clears and we are able to live in a prequel bashing paradise. Can I have an amen?!

Sorry smile.gif

Anyway, I came here because I saw that Episode II (which I actually had enjoyed the first time I watched it) was getting nominated for a shitload of razzies. One of the links that the Razzies had was to Chef's hate lists. Now I hated Episode I even though I did like Episode II, and I cracked up at Chef's lists. I read the Episode II list and enjoyed them as well. I think I wrote to Chef with the subject line "I don't think you're an idiot for hating Episode II, I just disagree", and wrote him about why I enjoyed the movie. We had a nice email discussion about it, and then in October he invited me to the forum and I came here, where I learned to dislike Episode II as well smile.gif. We'll just say I saw the light. I actually still can enjoy it as background when it's on, it doesn't disgust me as Episode I does, but now I enjoy it as a comedy of errors.

Firstly, I was on freegames.org before it morphed into gamehippo.com. I downloaded and played all of the Rob Blanc games, and then forgot about Yahtzee for a while. Then I went to play them again, found out he had a website, read all of YtoTW, and checked out L&E via that site. That was with the uber oldschool forums, like... 2000/1999ish...

I was on Yahtz's EZBoard forums as well. Although that was where I was disliked. Hey, I might still be disliked by some of his more rabid followers, but I'm not 17 anymore and don't care.
