I'm torn personally. I loved Vampire Sidous, loved Yoda wiping out the Royal Guards, but
hated the look of the lava fight and a scene of the wookies didnt look right either.

Anakin looks especially 'Maulish'. That was pretty cool.

Thanks Zod. Hmmm, I'm torn too. Probably the best episode of the PT, but that's not saying much at all. I think McDiarmid will steal the show, if there is a show to steal that is. The problem with Ep III is that a lot of the important scenes are suppose to be very emotional and considering Lucas track record I seriously doubt he'll pull it off. But I really can't help feeling a certain amount of awe seeing Vader again, I blame my nostalgia smile.gif

edit: and now is when I recall JarJar, Grievious and the PTs finer moments. It'll suck horribly I'm afraid...

I posted this in the other thread, but since we're apparently discussing the trailer in this one, here it is.

Not a half-bad trailer, no Jar-Jar. I disagree about the duel, it looked pretty cool to me, Anakin was being evil and extremely powerful, yet calm, like Vader. And the lava in the background I think on a bigscreen will look amazing. The space battle looks cool, the wookie army looked cool from the half second I saw, though I agree there was something weird with it, IDK if they were CGI or what, but there is something about the wookies I can't put my finger on that's weird. Not gonna get my hopes up, but Lucas still knows how to make pretty good trailers. I'm sure in a theater it looks awesome, instead of on my crappy comp screen.

Oh and the music at the end is cut kind of weird they have the imperial march just cut off suddenly, that was my only real problem.

I agree McDiarmid will steal the show. Hopefully Yoda's lightsaber fight will look better this time, though it can't look much worse. Also, Yoda looked even faker in this trailer than in AOTC, but that'll probably be made better for the theatrical release.

But you're right, the scene introducing Vader was very cool. It seems like Lucas at least is making his introduction powerful, so maybe there is hope that the other scenes will be powerful. Not much, but it's there.

QUOTE (Vwing @ Nov 4 2004, 05:23 PM)
I agree McDiarmid will steal the show.

According to the guy from the Force.net who saw the rought cut of Episode III, he said that without a doubt McDiarmid stole the show.
I too can totally see this happening, since he seems to show his true colors.
From the brief glimpse of him, he seems to be throwing his lightsaber at Yoda...Nice touch!

I've watched the trailer a few times now and have not seen that, where exactly do they show Palps (I hate calling him sidious) throwing his saber at Yoda? I haven't caught that. And also, where do they show Yoda wiping out the Royal Guards?

Another nice touch was R2D2 and C3P0 on what appears to be the Tantive IV. At least he doesn't completely miss that there needs to be some connection with the OT. And the angles were also very similar as ANH.

It happens right after they show a close up of Anakin fighting Obi Wan. Though he doesn't really look like the Emperor we know from ROTJ

A little too much CGI, but this looks like it could easily be the best of the series, if we ignore the obvious such as bad acting, bad dialogue and potty humour

I need to see it at the cinema, but I didn't see anything there that was really exciting. the wookies look terrible and HC is wearing yellow contact lenses. it will be better than the previous two, but in all honesty, who cares? when you look back on it it's just going to be one big missed opportunity.

Oh god you're right, I didn't realize the little alien guy at the end was the Emperor, but on second look he is. He looks really weird and evil there. Wow.

Takes a few viewings to realize that. Wonder why he looks so deformed there unsure.gif

I agree Garth, that shot of all the Wookies doesn't look so good, ditto that grey skinned alien shown right after that scene. Despite the crappiness of the previous two movies, I admit I felt like a kid again seeing this teaser. There looks like there could be some awesome scenes. It was a very well done teaser. But we've been fooled before

Considering movie trailers usually include the best moments, roughly a third of this came from a film that's 27 years old, did it not? (cheap shot I'm sure)

just to make certain: you all know that in QuickTime: you can freeze the action and click through the frames, right? (with the little arrows. stupid question) dry.gif

I tried to watch that trailer but for some reason, I just get a message saying I'm unauthorised to view the page. Could this be the work of Lucas and his stupid secrecy crap?
