I voted Reagan. I don't like President Reagan, just Ronnie Reagan. Or more specifically, Rappin' Ronnie Reagan.

The Black Stallion, because black is cooler than presidents.

EDIT: Should we disturbed that this advert appeared in this thread, or indeed anywhere in the Universe at all?

Just curious, but wasn't America named after one of the blokes who found it?

I know this may make me seem stupid for asking, but I just realised that I don't know where the name for Australia came from either. Infact, come to think of it, the only nations whos names I know the reason for are England(Angle-Land), Philipines(after King Philip) and Japan(Nihon=Land of the Rising Sun, as it's in the East). At least, off the top of my head anyway.

Germany is named after a sort of warrior carrying a spear.
And America is named after Amerigo Vespuchi, so we SHOULD probably call it Vespuchiland.

China comes from Chu Guo (unsure of the exact romanization), meaning "Central Kingdom."

Iceland, Greenland are easy.

Denmark-the Danes, Norway I'm SURE has something to do with "north", Finland-the Finns. There's a pattern here for many nations.
