Damn straight. Why is so much of the world still imperial. It makes no sense. No sense at all. I was brought up on metric, and have little understanding at all of the imperial system.

As somebody who works heavly in both imperial and metric, I'd like to say right now that I hate imperial.
A slug? A pound-force, Pound Mass??????????
Metric- All you need to know is how to count to 10 and the rest falls in place.

Yes. You know how many questions I get from people? How many pints in a quart? How many cups in a gallon? How many ounces in a tablespoon? How many leapfrogs in a hogshead? I just happen to have a very, very strong grasp of this system due to my culinary training in this country. I still think it's dumb.
Particularly working anyplace with scales. Most scales at delis, supermarkets read out in decimal values. So you have to do the math in your head to figure out how many ounces .75 of a pound is. There are 16 ounces in a pound but every scale seems to divide a pound into 100 pieces.
It's quite an annoying problem.
The metric thing would be rough at first, but I'd be willing to make the adjustments necessary. We just need to admit that it's a better system because it so obviously is.

I'd be willing to make the adjustment. The thing is, if they'd made any more than a half-hearted effort to teach me any kind of measurements in school, I'd already know it. But not only do I not know the metric system, I don't know ANY of the "How many X in an X?" questions. (Except I think there are four quarts in a gallon. But don't ask me how many pints that is.)
While we're at it, can we make 1:00 be the first time when AM/PM toggles? Having 12 be the first AM/PM is DUMB. 12 is the LAST NUMBER. 1 is the FIRST NUMBER. Jesus!
Also, we should shift the entire day down 3 hours so that the AM/PM toggle is in the middle of the night, at what we would now call 4 AM. It would also mean the morning lasts until (our) 4 PM, but that's fine. We'd get used to it.
I don't mind 60/60/24, though, because those are mathematically sexy numbers. If only there were 360 days in the year, because that is awesome too. I think the Mayans had it right when they partied for the last 5.25 days and considered them Not Really part of the year, just so there would be 360 days.
Okay, end irrelevance.

Wow, I never thought of that. That's an excellent point. However, I'm much more in favor of using a base ten time system as well. Have you ever tried adding up time? It's not a whole lot of fun now, is it?

A base ten time system... hmmm.... that has merits.
Then we shall make the day into a 20 hour unit, with the 4 hour difference being taken out of the standard 8 hour work day. Excellent.
If work was four hours a day, five days a week, I for one wouldn't mind it so much.
Make way for the base-ten time system!

No. Time is good. Measurements of 2,3D need changing SI SI SI SI! GO french.
1 circle = 360 degrees
1 degree = 60 minutes
1 minute = 60 seconds
You'd screw up angular units.

But in a mathematical sense you use radians anyway. Well, we do everything in radians. As 1 radian is the angle wherein the arclength=radius, its pretty universal of all circles.
