Hey, can anybody reccomend some good programs to create music on my PC with? I lack the charisma, leadership abilities, coherent thought, music writing abilities, and skill to form a band, so I was wondering what a good way to mess around with various instruments without having to go to say a recording studio, or use a microphone, or learn to play them, or whatever. I gots to make songs, but I have no method at the moment.

Non-midi music is preferable, and the program should preferably be not too tedious or difficult to figure out...

A pain i know all too well.

Just use the sound recorder software that comes with Windows.... or do you not have windows?
Search download.com for something.
For the former, you'll need a microphone. but dude, they're only $15 at most! They rock.

It's hard to overdub using Windows Sound Recorder (lack of mixing, hard to sync up), but it's possible. i'm still fooling around with it, but the point is you can overdub.

Aside from PC crap, just get a tape recorder from a pawn shop. Ta da!

No, my problem is lack of instruments. All I have is a shitty electric keyboard with not enough keys, dated not very good synths, and no way to plug it in without a hassle. Also, the feel on it is all wrong after playing a real piano, not having weighted keys throws me totally off.

I'd like to have more instruments in the music I want to make, but there's nobody to play them, and I'd probably be too much of an anal perfectionist about it for them to tolerate my requests, were there other people with me.
