I don't know if anybody else is bothered, but this annoys me. As far as I can tell, the new posts icon comes up if there has been a new post in a thread when I've been online, not if there is an unread post in there. So, say I come to the forums, and read through the lobby, but something comes up, and I have to leave before reading the new posts in the news forum. If I then come back 5 mins later, the little symbol on the threads to represent new posts will now be gone, regardless of the fact that I haven't read the new posts. This is lead to me nearly missing a few things, and probably missing a few more that I don't know about.

It happens to me too... but man, do you really have the time to respond to every new post? I just quickly glance at the Lobby to see if there's anything new in Lord of the Rings (by Barend ) or Pointless Random Thoughts.

I then go straight to the Star Wars forum... where the real fun is. Sometimes I do go to the Movie Theatre but most people here have a tendency to just discuss movies and topics I'm not interested in. Maybe when Madam Corvax makes her next Lord of the Rings thread, I'll visit there more often.

As for the other forums... they may be interesting but I just don't have the time. For instance, the Live Music forum - I love music. I love listening to it, I love singing while banging it out with my acoustic guitar and writing my own songs...

... but I just don't feel like spending heaps of time discussing it.

The Star Wars forum however is great entertainment. Two thumbs up for that one.

Poor you. I think you should seek counselling. I know, the additcion to the forum is horrible. But it can be cured, buddy. (Although I am not sure if you should be cured. You still have TTT and ROTK to do so we'd better keep you hooked)

There is still around two months to that event, I am afraig *sigh*. BUt I'll think up something as an early birthday present for you JYAMG. Perhaps the infmanous FOTR appreciation thread?

I tried once to look at it too, but it seems to me nobody listens to the same music as I do, so there is no point discussit it. Who listens to Dead Can Dance anymore?

I do, for one, Madam Corvax. "Into The Labyrinth" is a fine record. If you don't see a thread dedicated to music you like, you can always (gasp!) start a thread.

As for the new post icon issue, I was going to say exactly what JYAMG said. There are probably far more pressing matters at hand in your life than keeping track of every single post on this forum.

Noooo? Really... Can I ? You serious? wink.gif

Actually, I might do that one day, thanks for the hint. I love Lisa and I will take delight in slamming anyone who doesn't. smile.gif

Sure, its not that big a deal, but it just bugs me sometimes. For example, I mostly only read the Starwars forums for JYAMG's storylines, but I think I missed Ep8 for a long time as it had come up as 'read', so I skipped over it.

If it bugs you that much, disable your browser's cookies. Then it will show everything as "Unread" each time you visit. Or at least, it should. And you'll have to login each time, as well.

Or you could, you know, look at the time of the last poster and gauge it to your time instead of relying on a buggy icon...
