I'd just like you all to know that the Star Wars SE DVD set is currently, but slowly, making its way across North America to my home. I should be receiving the box set (donated by a very generous forum member) within a week or so.

Expect reviews soon thereafter! smile.gif

I'm assuming this will be a regular review and not a reasons to hate list. Am I correct?

At 8:47 A.M. this morning the DVDs were delivered to me in a small bulging box! Much faster than I'd expected. They were sent from the name of a forum member here who will remain anonymous (unless he wants to swoop in and take credit, which he is more than welcome to do).

I will get on the reviews SOON!

I'm thinking of doing a traditional "Reasons To Hate..." type thing. Why mess with success? wink.gif

Looking forward to them, definitely. This ought to tide us over until Episode III is released. smile.gif

The sandpeople had women and children. We know this because Anakin killed them how could he tell? The children might be smaller but I never saw a sandperson with breasts. Did they hike their skirts and show him some leg or something?

Also, I can see the point of wanting to kidnap a human and use her as a slave, but they didn't. They tied her to a flimsy easel for a month. It's assumed they had to feed and give her water. What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.

I hope so. However, the movies are just spoiled by the prequels. As soon as Obi-Wan or Grand Moff Tarkin say anything you realize that everything they say makes any sense anymore thanks to the contradictions presented by the prequels. sad.gif

It has being a lont time since my last post. Ive being working a lot lately.
I watch the first DVD, ANH. They did an incredible job digitalizing the images. The movie looks really, really neat, Kudos to Lucas for the first time in about 10 years. I noticed a flaw, though that i am not sure its in the original movie and the SPE.
When Vader is talking to Tarkin about how the rebel base wasnt in Dantooine Vader's voice was out of synch (for about 2 good seconds) with his corporal expression. I dont know if anyone noticed it. I also have to point out that I have I live in Panama so I have the Region 4 dvd, and dont know that it will be reflected in the US DVD.

Agree. When i was watching Obi Wan talking to Luke about the force. My wife and I screemed at the same time (really syncronized). "Lier, the force is a shit in your blood"

If they're as good as the reasons to hate Episode 1 and 2, this will be indeed a great read. So will you be tying in the contradictions to the prequel when you write this? That has to be the most maddening thing of all. Especially if you read the books based on the original triology. So many damn continuity errors

Agreed... as for the question about Vader's voice being out of synch. That's always been there. There's another thing. After he finishes speaking, he makes this sort of beckoning gesture to Tarkin that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Has anyone noticed the major flaw in ANH? When Ben first gives Luke the lightsaber in his home, it is blue. When they are on the Falcon and Luke is training with the helmet with the blast shield down, his saber is green!! Can anyone explain that?? One cannot just change the color of a lightsaber blade.

That's fine Civillian, but what about the flaw? Did anyone else notice this?

I did, but thought it was my imagination. They probably are going to explain that the colors depend on your mood or something.
