That last one with the Super Star Destroyer is really strange. It's almost like Lucas modified little things like that to give the gushers something to talk about

Gusher 1: Did you see! The Super Star Destroyer is Empire is a diffrent colour now!

Gusher 2: Yeah isn't it cool! That Lucas sure is a genius.

And the ride into Mos Eisely in the S.E. always sucked. I ahted how distracting the dewback and droid become when Obi Wan was talking to the stromtroopers. Once again Lucas had to add CGI to take away from an important scene

Distracting, pointless, irritating... these are the only sorts of adjectives I can come up with to describe these additions.

Nice description of the dinosaur scene with commentary. laugh.gif

I have an even better dinosaur for you... I'll post it in the official review. smile.gif

Okay, the problem I'm having is this...

There is a scene where I could SWEAR that one of the jawa's droids has been replaced. This is the scene from the movie with the droid highlighted:

Here is the action figure of the droid I remember from the original scene:

Link to reference.

I foolishly left my original trillogy VHS tapes in Rhode Island. Can anyone verify the change or lack thereof? I remember having that action figure and I was nearly positive that FX-7 was in that scene.

Okay, that was the droid from Hoth... my bad. The droid above still looks new. Maybe I'm just crazy. Anyone know for sure?

Here's information on FX-7: http://starwars.carr...eviews/fx7.html

Sorry Chef, no replacement there. The action figure droid you're referring to is one of two medical droids that treats Luke on Hoth when he returns from the Wampa lair. The one you highlighted has always been there.

Edit: simultaneuos post GAH!

Ahhh... Okay. Thank you very much. I thought at first that it was too pointless for Lucas to bother changing it. Then I thought better by wondering why that would stop him.

Speaking of pointless, did you know that there are fans that actually scan the starfield backgrounds to see if they're correct and make sense? And some of these fans were very upset that sometimes the stars were all wrong. Wonder if George changed any of that? I like my Star Wars coherent and consistant, but I also know where the line is drawn between fan and rabid loon... biggrin.gif

I also have a question, did George include the scene in the Endor battle when a squadron of B-Wings blow up a Star Destroyer? If memory serves me there was such a scene often shown as a promo still, but it was ultimately cut from the film since George thought the audience had more than enough ships to keep track of, and B-Wings look kind of weird. Which was too bad, I always thought the B-Wings were the coolest alliance fighters.

Yes, even I think it's going too far to count the starts. Although, it's interesting that people found the constellation Orion in The Phantom Menace. That's just bad.

As far as I can tell the B-wing footage is unchanged.

that's also a reason the moon hoax believers give for (apollo footage) there not being stars in the moon photos. They say that it would be too easy to disprove the event by errors in the starfield found by ametuer astronomers. So Nasa just said "you can't see stars from the moon." BTW, in the "historical account" of Apollo 13 (the movie) when Hanks fantasizes about being on the moon, yep, there are stars.

and giving credence to any moon hoax evidence is a kick in the nuts to this one time schoolboy who wanted to be an astronaut. Kinda like watching the SSE's. It's easier to find excuses than to doubt the party line.

Movie Goer: Maybe the super star destroyer is reflecting bespin on its underbelly and that's why the color is different. wink.gif

That's a good theory - except it goes back to its dark colour moments later when we resume the original footage. Nope, I doubt even Jariten could conjure an excuse for that one.
