That is a brilliantly written piece on the subject. You can expect my review, while sharing similar themes, to be nowhere near as intelligently written. HOORAY!

I'm just bumping it because it really is a good read. Not to take anything away from Chef's review of course smile.gif, but it really is very well-written, and makes pretty much all the points we make, so you guys will appreciate it.

Not at all... it's a great read. smile.gif

I like to think of my "Reasons to Hate" as a bridge between the two extremes:

Awesome piece. It was written so well and thought out that it has to give even the most die-hard and illogical of fanboys reasons to think "Maybe Lucas is not God."

I would love to see the SW forum response to this and their spin.

That was a brilliant piece. The author voiced all that I feel, that all the new changes and addicitons just lack the feeling, the emotions, to the extend that is almost tangible.

I am curious what our friend Jariten thinks of this.

QUOTE (Sagacity @ Sep 30 2004, 07:38 PM)

Nothing beats debating the validity of a really well written and well thought out essay with quotes like the following:

QUOTE
SW was created, written and directed by by Gary "holier than God" Kurtz, wah wah wah ..."

QUOTE
"How a man who sets out to do simply do this can receive soooo muuuch hate is beyond me."

There is nothing in that essay that implied "hate". Brooker wrote everything very carefully and spent plenty of time praising th emovies he loves (or loved). Sometimes fanboys read between the lines and get on the defensive a bit too much.

I've finally been able to read the entire article (haven't had time before). It was very intelligent and well thought out.

The responses that you refer to are rather sad in their ignorance. Oh well, there's not much we can do for those people.

Great article. thanks for the link

QUOTE
The PT is a wonderful SW history lesson, with a more complex plot than the OT, more interesting visuals (not just special effects) and a fascinating ambiguity. I'm very grateful for these movies, I've been in love with them all for years now, and I can't wait until the saga is completed, to see it the way it should be seen.

Fascinating ambiguity: "I'm not sure why I love, it but it's terrific."

And that's a pretty long line for the kool-aid they dispense.

Thanks for the links. I found Will Booker's article to be very well written and a great argument for those of us who grew up watching the OT. As for the other link I think Michel said it best...
