Pie-Face, from the old Dennis the Menace Beano comics, is the most underrated character in British literature.

Discuss.

I dunno, I always thought that pieface was kind of a dick. Those pies looked pretty damn appetising though.

My confusion is so complete, it has manifested itself on my desk. It's kind of cute. And very acidic.

Help!

I do remember seeing a Beano comic in the dim and distant past,
but I don't remember any Pieface.

If you say he's a great literary character Yahtz I shall bow to your superior taste and knowledge....(crawl, creep, and flatter.)

Don't know what our American friends are thinking though.

I cannot answer the question.

But of course, Pie Face's rampant pie-eating was a perfect foil to Dennis' throwing mouldering fruit at people, and Curly's... hair?

I didn't spend 10 years reading the damn thing for nothing, you all realise. Though it does suck balls nowadays...

I always found Roger the Doger to be disappointing. He never really 'doged' much.

He damn well used to though, back in the old days...

May I start another discussion here? It is releated, and its something I'm sure people will have something to say about.

It goes down like this - The Dandy, in an apparent effort to keep up with our PC society (read: Nanny State), are making a some changes.

Biggest of these is the changing Desperate Dan's image. They've already seen fit to stop the guy smoking and cut out his Cow Pies, but now they're making him holster his gun for good, and make him a good deal slimmer. There's also the introduction of a new character - Dreadlock Holmes, a teenage sleuth that's supposedly The Dandy's first ever coloured protagonist.

Now, Im quite shocked about the Dan business. By making him hang up his shooting irons for good, and making him look like he's just come off the Atkins Diet, they are suggesting that teenage gun crime and obesity can be traced back to people reading the Dandy. Do the people who make these sad decisions honestly believe that gun toting thugs get their motivation from the colourful exploits of a gun toting muscleman? Or are they just terrified that namby pamby liberals will draw the same conclusions and accuse said publication of breeding the hordes of gun criminals that now infest our streets?

Is innocence truly dead? The nanny state, and our compensation culture and political correctness it thrives in, certainly is hammering the final nails into its coffin.

Rant's over. Feel free to ignore it if you so desire.

Hello, Brick's Confusion.

Well, enough of that nonsense, I'm going to do what I almost always do in essay situations: stare at the question blankly for about ten minutes, then fall into a state of pure confusion and panic.

...Yes, I'm not quite sure how to react to something vomiting acid as a response. I have to say I didn't realize you meant "acidic" in the literal sense, either.
