Greatest classic games, eh?
Well, the number one most awexome game ever in my mind is... uh... I dunno.

Favorites are:
Zelda: Link to the Past
Super Mario Bros. 3
Contra
Space Quest 4
Earthworm Jim 2
Megaman 2
Final Fantasy 6/Secret of Mana/Chrono Trigger (Greatest "RPGS" of all time)
Daggerfall (A real RPG)
Sonic 3 & Knuckles (Damn the lock-on gimmick, but this combo still makes me drool.)
Pac-Man (Not super or Ms.)
Simpsons Arcade machine

Plus, you can't go wrong with any Sonic game, apart from that nugget of crap that was the racing game on the Saturn.

Two games for you: Sonic 3D Blast and Sonic Spinball.

QUOTE
Super Mario 64 is a tough one to look at. For its time, it was brilliant. First 3D platformer and all. But it was also so lacking.

Lacking how? You ran, you jumped on things, you explored, you got powerups. It's Mario, except 3D. It even had cool music, although I like remixes to the 8/16bit themes better than entirely new music, but you have to give them credit for that too. Banjo-Kazooie also had powerups and you ran and jumped, but you spent the whole game just collecting a bunch of crap. In fact, you were required to collect said crap to complete the game. Sure, Mario had stars, and I liked Banjo-Kazooie, but worthy of taking out Mario 64 as a better platformer it was not!

Uh, the post code doesn't seem to work...

I came relatively late to computer gaming, so I haven't played many of these. But Civilization was one of the first games I played, and I still love Tetris smile.gif

Also, I can see the point of wanting to kidnap a human and use her as a slave, but they didn't. They tied her to a flimsy easel for a month. It's assumed they had to feed and give her water. What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.

The former rings a bell, the latter was just fun, methinx...

As to Hugo? I found the second one an impossible nightmare, but the other two? Gravy.

Oh yeah, I forgot the old game 'Eric The Unready'.

I think that was the only game that actually replied to phrases such as "fuck you" and "eat shit", and also gave you rewards / punishment / hilarious dialogue if you said it to a few characters. Funny stuff!

Somebody mentioned Spycraft, which was a great game. Took me ages to finish it.

And as for the Mario thing, I just don't think they quite captured the essence that was Mario. I still hold that Super Mario World was the best of the Mario games.

Prince of Persia was excellent, but the recent Sands of Time was crap.

Metroid Prime is pretty much a remake of Super Metroid, with a different plot and in 3D. They did an excellent job of switching dimensions.
The Green Knight, SimeSublime the Puffinesque, liker of chips and hunter of gnomes.
