QUOTE
he's telling people what the're going to get. he's trying to change history, it sucks, these DVDs are an insult to my childhood, an insult to filmmaking, and another notch of on the bel of the corporate heart of the art and morality killing machine...

the originals were released to make money. every film is. if you dont like the remastered versions (and i can understand why you wouldnt) dont buy them. ignore them. ignore the prequels. get them again on VHS if you must, becasue (and this sucks, its a terrible mistake by Lucas) thats the best youre going to get out of him. hes stated his position, and he seems to be standing firm. he`ll never change history- the `Lucas changed Star Wars` thing will never be forgotten, and thats something hes going to have to live with. the DVDs arnt an insult to anything unless you choose to let Lucas make it so. just say "fuck you" to George, get the originals off ebay, and move on.

NO. of course films need to make money... you should be paid for things you put efoort into. what's the point of being an artist if have to work 9-5 or more to live, instead of spending that time creating things that make the world a better and more interesting place? (even though it rarley works out that way).

he's going to have to live with his crime but he feels no remorse for it, so what does that matter?

I HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT!!! AND I HAVE'NT DONE ANYTHING WRONG TO DESERVE THIS!!!

these films are famous on the merit the original versions earned, and thusly deserve their rightful transference to DVD. with priority over the 'zone the kiddy market' editions!!!

I seriously doubt that's going to happen, if anything George Lucas show little respect for the people who got him where he is. The fans! I seriously doubt he could have gotten where he is with movies like THX 1138 or American Graffit. Let's face facts after Star Wars the man got lazy, and drunk with power. What has this man actually done other than ride the wave of success after Star Wars? Indiana Jones? Hell Speilberg had more to do with that than Lucas. Why think of something original when it's so much easier to just color over something already made! I guess you could argue that the prequels are original, but it's still Star Wars which means it's going to make money because there are so many loyalists willing to pay for shit, just because it has a big star wars logo on it! As far as the DVD canges are concerned I don't think people are overreacting. I have said it before elsewhere, These movies are not solely George Lucas's, but also belong to the many people who loved and embraced the original movies as they were! Would Psycho be a better film if they showed Janet Lee completely nude with the knife going in and out of her? Or does this scene really need to be redone? I think not! Much of what has been changed in the new releases of Star Wars are changes to scenes which DID NOT need to be touched. As far as the added scenes what purpose do they really serve other than to remind us why they ended up on the cutting room floor in the first place?
