I'm doing a research report to go along with my science project. The report is due September 15. sad.gif Anyway, the project is testing my town for radiation using a Geiger counter. The question is going to be whether the side of town closer to Eglin Airforce Base has more radiation than the other, due to bomb testing. This report has to be 5 pages long, double spaced. The reason I'm making this post is because I am hunting research to get this report done, and I would greatly appreciate it if any of you guys know any good sites, by chance. My outline for the report is as follows:

1. Introduction- Define radiation
2. Causes of radiation
3. Effects of radiation
4. Types of radiation
5. Geiger counter and how it works
6. Conclusion- Restate main points

If you all have any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated! smile.gif

I'm sorry... I got nothing...

I'd ask YOU if you could help with my forthcoming projects, but seeing as how (according to staff) they take 5-8 hours to complete, I'll pass...lol

do a survey of the area...

see what the percentage difference is, between areas closer and further from your town's nuclear testing ground, of bald toothless children!!!

Off the top of my head I can tell you that radiation gives people super powers and resserects dinosaurs, but that's about it.

Radiation? Geez. If you had a report on structures, forces, fluids, thermo, I could help you. My thermo knowledge is limted and I have yet to cover Radiation as a form of heat loss etc... Actually, I'm never going to, I hate the damn course.

I found one page which is I suppose quite basic www.uic.com.au/ral.htm
Try and see if it is the level you need.

But anyway, it is quite simple, just write in any search engine (Googles, Yahoo) those topics you listed in the outline, and you will be inundated with names of sites.

You should have no problem finding stuff on Raditation. It's very well documented. Star off with some sort of "science for dummies" and work your way up to University Papers.

i could show you how to build a Proton Excellerator out of a cork, spool, a smashed watch, and a toilet brush.

you'll also need some hoby glue, sticky tape, sparkles, and some houshold bleach...

wait, a minute...
didn't i make this exact same joke about six months ago?

I believe so, in the Science Project topic. But that was more like two months ago. smile.gif

i can help u out alot if u r having problems getting the whole 5 pages

increased margins (1.25 in)
2.2 spacing
courier new font
returns between paragraphs or after title/heading etc
blockquotes

the teacher will still think its 5 pages but be happy because it took him 5 minutes to grade oh and in your outline it doesnt appear you are at all mentioning your area, unless it is so frequently visited u left it out and well...oops

Has to be 12 font, Times New Roman, and APA format which specifies certain margins, etc.

Girdag, are those the three basic types of radiation? I am working on the first main point of the outline now, and I need to know the main types of radiation that I should talk about in it.

Wow. Madam Corvax, that was an excellent source you gave me. I was able to pull 2 of 5 pages out of that, just now. And I'll probably get more out of there when I work on page 3 tomorrow. Thanks. smile.gif
