Just saw this film. I thought it was great.
Very 'visual poetry'.

A lot of the times when I'm thinking about my films, it seems like they would fall into this type of category, so I think I tend to like these films more than most.

The choreography of the fight scenes was beautiful, yet different for each one. (I think the first is my favorite.)

Anyway I'm just curious as to what others thought of this film, or others that could be in the same category. (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon for example.)
Also would like to hear about other films that might fall into the 'visual poetry' style but might not be kung fu.

From what you say this is a damn good movie, and I can't resist anything from that ****ing **********er Quinten Tarentino. I'll try and go later this week.

Well Tarentino didn't have anything to do with the making of the film.. just in getting it over here. So don't expect his ultra violence. wink.gif

There is dialogue, and a story. Although in mandarin.

As for the Film Lovers, I believe it is sort of about the story of two of the characters.. dealing more with their development rather than the overall story of what is going on.

I've never really cared for Kung Fu movies. Was the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon the one where people were flying around the treetops? I think I saw bits and pieces of it, it looked all fake and comical. Comical, because it looked so fake. wink.gif

Yup that is the one... Both that film and this one actually have a good story line though rather than a lot of kung fu. The fight scenes are more like dances though.. and I will say that in Hero there is one or two that are rather comical. But there are a few others that more than make up for it.
