Hurricane Frances seems to be going across the gulf, and will most likely be at my front door by Monday morning or evening. I live in the Destin/Walton area, which is where it will be making landfall again. It's weakened quite a bit since it's been through the peninsula, so maybe once it's to the panhandle it won't be quite so nasty. Anyway, we've been getting supplies and preparing for the worst just incase. So if I lose power for a few days, I will see you all once everything is up and running again. Hopefully it won't take my precious power though. dry.gif

smile.gif I think we'll be okay. I've survived worse. Andrew and Opal. dry.gif

I called my grandparents, who live down in the peninsula. They said it was pretty rough, but it's really not as bad as it's being made out to be. I'm just going to hope for the best. The best being that it's not so bad that it kills anyone or does alot of damage, but it rains enough to wash out all the dirt roads so that buses can't pick up kids, and they cancel school Tuesday. biggrin.gif

Luckily it's been downed to a tropical storm. AN's power just went out. She called for a bit this morning. I know she'll be alright but it's tough being this far away from her sad.gif

Power back on! smile.gif I got myself a nice shower. The wind is starting to really pick up now, and we've got tornado watches going. I've gotten all of the poor doggies and kitties inside so they don't get blown away. We should be alright. If we lose power again, we may go into town and stay with a relative. Since we live so far out, sometimes we'll end up going weeks without power, but they'll get power going in town much more quickly. I'm just worried about my Miliecat. dry.gif Took her to the vet yesterday morning because she was having trouble breathing, all wheezing and stuff. Porbably just has a hairball caught in her throat, but the medication didn't seem to help. She should be pretty safe up there though, it's a nice, sturdy concrete building. It's hard being the crazy cat lady and surviving these things, so many cats to gather and stick in the house.

Whoa. Be safe! Round up all the cats (or as many as possible) and keep them in the basement!

Hope everything goes alright Amber-Nicole. Hurricane Isabel whipped through my area (Northern Virginia) last year, but luckily I only lost power for a day and there was no damage to my house.

Not too bad, actually. Not even bad enough to cancel school. sad.gif

Ivan, on the other hand...looks like it's coming directly into the gulf, which means my poor little town=fucked. unsure.gif
