Not too bad, actually. Not even bad enough to cancel school. sad.gif

What a waste of a hurricane!

We're getting pounded with the remenants of Frances right now in New York. It's flooding everything... probably not enough to get the day off work. wink.gif

I remember last year when we had Lily coming through. Everyone was panicking and taping up windows and closing schools, but in the end, absolutely nothing happened except I think for a little wind and rain. As a joke, one of my friends taped a piece of a fallen branch to the wall in our first hour class and wrote "The Wrath of Lily" beside it. smile.gif I think the school still has some of that tape up on its windows, actually...

I have some family down there in the peninsula...I hope their doing ok.

Good call. In Vancouver, if 1 inch of snow is on the streets then school is cancelled. HA!

I haven't bothered to check on Ivan lately, but from what people have been saying it looks like it'll end up in the gulf. Which means it'll hit the panhandle, where I'm at. dry.gif

I honestly can't believe that they didn't cancel school. We had tornados go through town! I swear, if Ivan destroys every building in town except for the high school, they'll still make us go in. -__- They're trying to make up for that day we stayed out for Bonnie, and it didn't even rain! Scared to death we might have to add an extra school day on to the end of the year. I don't think they even do that until it gets to 3 or 4 days. I know we were out my freshman year for three days because a transformer blew, and we didn't have power. They didn't add extra days to the end of the school year to make those up.

that's the great thing about sydney...
futherst city from any fault-line. no eath quakes, no hurricanes, no...
hmmm... although we've never had one, i wonder if it is possible for us to heve a tornado?

i hope not... 'cause our no-fault-line trade off is all the worlds deadliest snakes, spiders, etc. i would hate to have some form of windstorm that sent these deadly critters flying through the air...

I think that may be nature's way of evening it out: you get no natural disasters, but you get the nastiest of the nasty creepy-crawly things.

missouri is awesome. Missouri and Mississippi river flooding, Tornado Alley, full of sinkholes due to our high limestone content and extensive cave networks, and a very active faultline in the southeast misosuri.

Barend: Hehehehe! I can just picture a tornado flying directly and purposefully over a pet store full of snakes and spiders and whipping them around. And then a bewildered looking frog flys by 2 inches in front of the camera. Man, if life was like the inside of my head... it would be pretty awesome, and hilarious, if not fucked up completely.

What like you can't call me either? This is awful - leaving your poor friend to worry! For shame!
