...patch?

Uh...

Dunno about a patch... we're just fucking about with a copy of the original rom. And we're only editing that with sprite and text editors that other people have made. Not sure either of us are nerdy enough to be able to handle something as technical-sounding as a 'patch'.

*shrug*

I doubt this site is important enough for the IDSA to really want to bother with.

Haven't got a clue how you do these things Yahtz and Rhubarb.

But, very glad you do.

I'd missed the cartoons, didn't realize how much.

Thanks.

Moomins...weren't they some sort of Scandinavian comic thingies from long ago?

I always found the Moomins inexplicable and weird, personally.

No, not in the same way everyone seems to find me...

They were a Finnish (although the author was Swedish) series of books about a family of small white creatures called Moomins. Really great little books, and the author was a professional illustrator who's illustrated versions of Alice in Wonderland and the Hobbit and suchlike (which I badly want, but the versions are only sold in Finland, and as such are in Finnish). The earlier books are children's books, with the little characters going on all sorts of adventures and stuff. The later ones get weird though... the last two are set parallel in time to each other - one set of characters are doing stuff in one place, and meanwhile another set of characters do stuff in another place - and they're pretty damn creepy, psychologically. The last one, 'Moominpapa At Sea', has been described as 'the ultimate midlife crisis book'.

Moomins are really famous in Finland... there are theme parks and museums dedicated to them. They were also made into a fairly cutesy BBC television series, which I have not seen, and have no plans to.

Moomins rule.

Making a patch is actually very simple. This nifty little utility called "Beopat" makes it a piece of cake: http://www.romhackin...atch/Beopat.zip
There is documentation included, so... Make a patch some time!

Check out my crappy drawings!

"...And then I start wondering if I'm a woman trapped in a man's body..."

Almost as good as Yahtzee Takes On the World, but still awesome in its own right.

Complete the sequence, kids:

Alien, chest of drawers, disembodied dog's head spirit guide

I'm not including Gary as weirdest character from YTOTW cause he didn't start out as a principal character, which Chester did.

Is that to say Mr Dogs-Head Dude is a principle character? He might just hang around for a comic or three, get Chris pointed in the right direction, then bugger off for a pint of toilet water.

Who's to say? The one guy who actually has any idea is probably laughing at me for worrying about it so much...

That Moomin cartoon series was fuckin' scary. What was that...thing with the long nose that never spoke. Scared the crap out of me...
And while we're on the subject of terrifying kids shows. Did anyone find the eyes those Thomas the Tank Engine models frigtening. Damn googly eyes. And how about that Brum...He looked like he was constantly screaming in pain.
But nothing...NOTHING beats that episode of Pingu when his bed starts walking. That episode NEVER gets shown...

What? The comic?
Yeah, it's alright.

Thomas was scary. I just wanted to know where he got the face from cause I was pretty damn sure trains weren't made with faces.

Yahtzee, would it be too hard to list the archives in descending order, so the latest comic is at the top of the list? Makes it more convenient for everyone but you who has to edit the site...biggrin.gif

Oh, and by the way... "Man, that 'Stuck On You' film gets funnier everytime I see it" - Tres bien, c'est jolie beaucoup!

Yay for french.

Bah, the dog has more empty cups than Chris in the final frame. Throws off the balance.
Other than that, good comics.

Wow, I'm gone for a week or two, and it looks as though I've missed quite a lot....

so all I have to say now is...

Yay, new comic!!!!
Head Gunner for the Royal Sloop Crimson Steel, Queen of the Dead, Instigator of Chaos and Confusion, Knight of the Grand Recursive Order of the Lambda Calculus, and also The Non.

Remember Emu's face, people; one day it's going to be on the news alongside a headline about blowing some landmark to smithereens, and then we can all sigh and say, "She was such a normal person".....
....We'd be lying though.
