I'm surprised Clint Eastwood hasn't made this list yet. I'm know I'm screwing this line up but....

"I know what you're asking yourself, did he fire 5 shots, or did he fire 6? To tell you the truth in all this excitement I kinda lost track myself. But the real question you should be asking yourself is, Do I feel lucky.... Well... DO YOU? PUNK?"

And from Apocalypse Now...

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning."

I had Clint in my list. I think the "do you, punk?" bit is too long. Even the summarized version you cited is too long. It's got nothing on the "Go ahead; make my day." from SUDDEN IMPACT.
"I had a lot of different ideas. At one point, Luke, Leia and Ben were all going to be little people, and we did screen tests to see if we could do that." -George Lucas, in STAR WARS: the Annotated Screenplays (p197).

Well it may be long, but I still think it's pretty good. Maybe that line should be in a Best Movie Soliloquies thread. biggrin.gif

I have to agree that "Go Ahead, make my day." is a classic, but I'll still like the line from Dirty Harry better. Just a personal preference.

Judd Nelson had a lot of memorable moments in that film. I liked the scene where he's talking about how messed up his homelife is and then goes into a dramatic interpretation of what it must be like for Brian, Anthony Michael Hall's character (I'm paraphrasing):

"Hey son, let's go fishing this weekend!"

"Gee dad, that sounds swell. Ah, but gee, I've got homework."

"That's okay son, you can just bring it on the boat!"

what about Clint Eastwood as the man with no name in the good the bad and the ugly:

Clint- "there are two kinds of people in this world my friend, those with a loaded gun, and those who dig, you dig."

then theres a different version earlier where the three mexican's try to sneak in on clint, but he hears they're spurs. he shoots them as they open the door, and one is still alive, he simply says, "your spurs" then finishes him off. but paco is in the window-

Paco to clint- "there are two kind's of spurs in this world blondie, those who come in through the door, and those who come in through the window

( these lines may be a few words different, but it's from memory so don't attack me.)

as i was reading all the replies, i began to get scared when you talked about clint eastwood. i thought you were going to use the one i was going to use.

the waiter ghost from 'the shining'

[in reference to "correcting" his children]

"..and when my wife tried to prevent me from fullfilling my parental duties... I corrected her..."

disturbing and wonderfully performed...

That was from there? I remember it being used in Fallout 2, and thought it was great. Didn't realise it was quoting something else.
