Gary Oldman not in Star Wars Episode III
We previously reported that Gary Oldman would have a role in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. However, due to contractual complications, he has decided to decline this offer and will not be appearing in the movie:

"Gary Oldman's voice will NOT be heard in the upcoming STAR WARS film. Gary was offered, and agreed to perform in the film, in fact he was excited and looking forward to the work. The snag that made it impossible however is that this film is being made as a non-SAG (Screen Actor's Guild) film. George Lucas and gang agreed to hire Gary Oldman if he in fact would become a union buster, and perform work illegally overseas. As a resident of America, and also a member of SAG, out of respect and solidarity with the other members, he could not and would not consider violating his union's rules."

Reported at www.mugglenet.com and by Douglas Management Group.

Also, I can see the point of wanting to kidnap a human and use her as a slave, but they didn't. They tied her to a flimsy easel for a month. It's assumed they had to feed and give her water. What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.

And more recently he was Sirius Black in Harry Potter. He's a very cool actor, and he would've been great as the villain, but now my faith in Episode III is almost gone. This really sucks.

He was supposed to play 'General Grievous', the stupid anime robot guy. Not that this idea wasn't bad enough even with a good actor playing him...

Mike, two of these films (The Fifth Element and Air Force One)are total shit. Not a good way to reference somebody. Why don't you use a better example such as Gary Oldman was Dracula in one of the more recent screen incarnations.

It is quite understandable that Episode III would not be a Screen Actor's Guild film.
Quite understandable indeed.... cool.gif

Gary Oldman and Milla Jovivich are the only really good things about the Fifth Element. smile.gif And thus they stand out in that film. He was also the Dr. in Lost in Space. And the Devil in the BMW film that had James Brown in it. (A little obscure that one, I know...)

I liked the fifth element as well. Oldman shined as Zorn and he was really evil. Cool costume too. Also it contains the line "Ummm negative I am a meat popsicle"

gary oldeman couldn't save this franchise if he was james caviezel playing jesus christ himself.

what?

do we really need MORE characters??? i'm having trouble maintaing my access database of all the useless characters introduced in the prequels so far...

how 'bout finishing this story? you only have about 30 lose ends to tie up in 2.5 hours, georgey.

I can't believe you missed Leon, (aka the Professional) that also starred Natalie Portman. One of his finest moments. Also, he plays Commisioner Gordon in the upcoming Batman Begins.

You actually liked the idea of General Grievous? I think I understand why your views are so radically different from everyone else's here.

Give him a chance. He might not be such a bad idea. He looks cool.... I thought Maul was a good villian too. Many hated him.
