Has anyone seen the trailer for the new Wes Anderson movie, The Life Aquatic? I'm so psyched about this movie that I can barely stand it.
Check it out here: http://lifeaquatic.m...o.com/main.html

BOTTLE ROCKET -where we met Dignan, the character Owen Wilson has played in every single movie since then (Dignan in Space, Dignan in the Wild West, Dignan the Cowboy Writer, Dignan the op, Dignan the male model, ... )
RUSHMORE - Part GRADUATE, part HAROLD AND MAUDE, all Wes Anderson, this was artistically the most outstanding American film of 1998. Too bad it didn't, you know, have explosions and stuff.
THE ROYAL TENNENBAUMS - a bit more of a second-viewer, this one. Much good to say aboutthis, but it did not for me rise to the level of RUSHMORE.
Now this, which I think from the trailers feels closer to TENNENBAUMS than RUSHMORE. Of course, we have Dignan and the Deep Blue Sea, which will be great, but I can see at least one central TENNENBAUMS theme coming through, so I'm concerned he might not have more in him.
Nonethless, even if it's relatively disappointing it will be great.

Wes Anderson is probably my favorite filmmaker. If you haven't seen those three movies that civilian just named then GO GET THEM AND SEE THEM. Those are probably three of my favorite all time movies.
Wes Anderson is like an ice cold drink of lemonade in the 135 degree desert of modern film. I can't get enough of his movies... my only regret is that he only comes out with a movie every 3 years or so. I've been dying for this one for a while.
