Hey, I was curious as to what opinions everyone has on this game. I have seen it actually played and it seems to be really odd. Now normally I think that most people should not dance. Especially video game types. However I was recently in an arcade with my friend Chris and he got a pretty decent score and people were actually watching his performance and not laughing. I think there's something ironic about a video gamer who can move like that. The next guy who came up to the pad got two perfect scores in a row and it was incredible. It looks just like tap dancing really but it's somehow hypnotizing to see.

Heh...that's pretty much it for me, actually. I don't care for playing DDR anymore, but it was fun for a while.

man i love that game! its actually really difficult though (at least for me probably down to poor co-ordination). out here in japan they have a lot of those beat mania games- not only dancing but one with guitars, another with drums and a nearly impossible to play DJ one.

(forgive me if these games are available elsewhere, not left this country in a long time)

Heccubus- Please destroy that CD. It must never be looked upon by another human being again.

I've never played it, but there's a DDR machine in the Students' Union building at my university. I once saw a guy dancing on it - he was pretty good, actually.

Also, I can see the point of wanting to kidnap a human and use her as a slave, but they didn't. They tied her to a flimsy easel for a month. It's assumed they had to feed and give her water. What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.

I don't recall you playing this game at all. Everytime I brought it up, you'd refuse. Please explain...

I play DDR like a religion, or at least used to. There's not that much room at my dad's house for me to play this game, and do the difficult songs. When I'm at my mom's though, I hook it up and get dancing.

I can do Maniac songs up to 9 feet, and get a B-A rating. When I was on vacation there was one guy trying to get a AA on some 10-footers. I asked him for some pointers, and he delievred. biggrin.gif

I'm better at the home version, but I'm getting used to the arcade version....

Don't forget the tamborine one. Come to think of it, I never saw anybody playing that one.

I think I made my feelings on DDR clear in another thread, and its too late for me to be bothered repeating them.

By the time you came along with your dance mat, I was sick of it. There was a machine at Rucker's for some time, remember?

Heccubus- You're right, you're still sane so you couldn't have watched it. Never the less a company must be formed to drag that cd back to Japan and throw it into the fires of mount Fuji.

Reader is apparently a competent DrumMania player. I, myself, have never bothered to play it.

This game knocks my socks off. I'm more partial to Drum Mania, or even Guitar Freaks, but DDR shares "Bee's Knees" honors with 'em.

I remember my friend, who is a drummer, trying to play drum manina. His constant swearing was quite funny.
