US Senator Complains About Being on Anti-Terror 'No Fly' List
VOA News
20 Aug 2004, 13:09 UTC

One of the best-known U.S. senators says he has been misidentified as someone on a terrorism watch list at airports in recent months.

Democratic Senator Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts told the Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday that the problem started in March.

He said some airline agents refused to sell him tickets because his name appeared on a "no fly" list. Mr. Kennedy said in each instance, a supervisor eventually recognized him and allowed him to get on the plane.

He said the misunderstanding persisted even after Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge personally intervened.

The Washington Post quotes a high-ranking administration official as saying the name "T. Kennedy" has been used as an alias by someone on the list of terrorists. The senator is commonly known as "Ted" Kennedy.

I wonder who writes the terrorist list? Is it a committee of old white guys, or just one old white guy?

Are you sure you haven't mixed up your stories. Maybe it was the bear that was refused boarding and Ted Kennedy found passed out surrounded by the beer cans.

You'd better check your facts

Actually, I think they were looking at the "No Drive List".

Wasn't this one of the things Paul predicted would happen in one of his "I love the PATRIOT ACT act" articles?

And here's a quote I got from an article about the Iraqi governing council that I found rather funny, even if it was only unintentionalyl contradicting.

Umm, thanks. That's why I'm here, you know. To make references to European kings and old white guys.
