I am completely outraged with that moronic idea concerning "Snaps" (those old jelly glow braclets that Slade talked about in his blog).

Here's a summary for those who don't know:

"So called "jelly bracelets", apparently made popular by pop-stars in the eighties, are making a comeback. That's no biggie, or news, but this is: During a game called "Snap" ,when one breaks, the breaker has to perform sexual acts on the owner. Orange bracelets mean kisses, red lap dances, blue oral sex, and black: INTERCOURSE. "

This is the saddest thing I have ever heard. First I felt horrible about people because "cutting" (which is when you slit wrists) is starting to become a fad as well (I didn't get this off of that gore site I frequent, but a DEGRASSI web site), but now these Snaps?

I thought physical acts like that should be honest, not just an everyday thing, not just a "game". I mean honestly, does "it" feel the same if you don't like the person? If you don't even know them? If you're only friends??

What do you think of this idea, these "fads"? I just don't even know anymore...

Whatever they do for a petty little thrill, that's they're problem. The only thing i'm worried about is the landfill of stupid snap-bracelets left in their wake.

Well, you know what I think of them, since you were kind enough to quote my article. And I like to think of my site as not a blog but an actual website. It's got lots of other stuff too, and isn't just about what I ate for dinner yesterday. Zing!

Well, unless I had something really wierd, or I thought of something wierder during dinner.

Actually, I think it's really retarded, but following the teachings of Epicurus, I have to say "What ever gets you off."

And fourthly, cutting isn't just slitting wrists. People cut all up and down their arms, and they don't do it to practice suicide, it's some sort of escapist dealy. I say read a book to escape reality. Or go stab other people. Don't hurt yourself, hurt everybody else. That's a more healthy way to look at it. (For you, not society.)

Being the man who gave the article to Slade, I think that is the most UBER RETARDED THING EVER! These "jelly bracelets" in no way directly correlate to the sex-bracelets from back in the day. Sure, they may LOOK similar, but NO ONE i've met thinks of them that way, and I certainally didn't even know of "sex-bracelets" ultimately, I think it sounds like some sadassed journalist who just needed a scoop, and ultimately, when you read it, it sounds like one of fox's ramped up reports on the war (kind of over now) that always say the same moot shit. No one cares MSN, no one is going to, stop starting bad things (Like Windows, IE, Outlook, Office, AND BUYING RARE!! YOU BASTARDS!!!).

Are you serious? What age group does this? All of them? I don't get how it can be some kind of escapist practice. I think I need to get a really big stick and start beating.

Ok, I want to get in your pants, assuming you really don't look like Auron. (Actually, having never seen what you look like, I can't really say that I do, but I did vote for it.) Secondly, it seems to be disturbed teens. They either do it for attention, or slice themselves because they can focus on the physical pain instead of mental.

Yes, I've been saying we need to get a really big stick for beating for the past six years.

Hmm, I think the media (or possibly a very bored person starting a rumor) started the whole "Oh no! Jelly bracelets are not what we think they are!" scare, and if anyone actually does the snap thing, it's 'cos they heard about it from the media, not the other way around.

I became aware of this alternate meaning for the bracelets over the summer when I was talking to some people. Someone was like "blah blah blah blah sex bracelets" and everyone was all like "huh?" and the person said "Oh, they're those jelly bracelets." and everyone was still like "huh?" so they explained what was basically a variation on the snap thing, and everyone was like "err....ok" but I was thinking that didn't really make sense, because I know some people who wear the bracelets but definitely wouldn't wear them for that reason. so I asked if people actually follow that, and they said "No, not really, most people just wear them because they think they look cool. Oh... ohmy.gif lol, well you're lucky I don't look at all like him. This forum should have a photo album or something, you know? Showcase our pictures... there are some of me floating around though, you just need to know where to look. Wait, uh--

This world has gotten really sad... I thought I heard the worst of it by working at Wal-Mart for a considerably long time (5 months, shut up), but now...

this junk really doesn't surprise me anymore. It really doesn't.

My next update involves more bracelet antics, but in a different sort of way. UNEXPECTED!... Ya know?
